    Hi,
1st owner here and trying to decide which is the best grey for a Roma? I guess the real question I have is...does spending the added $ for a historic paint color make sense from a resale value standpoint? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated I’m basically trying to decide btwn Grigio silverstone, Grigio ferro and canna di fucili? thanks!!

Interesting that all the Roma's I have seen in person have been a Grigio of some sort.

In order to answer your question at least somewhat, I will say that Canna Di Fucili seems to be a special choice. It may command a higher price from a buyer that is partial to it, but it definitely will take longer to find that buyer.

That said, I always feel a sense of dismay when I see a post from someone that hasn’t even bought the car yet fretting about selling it. Sad, really.

Wow...friendly reply, thanks! I had no idea that doing a little research with the hopes of being an informed consumer was against the rules. Appreciate you taking the time to educate me.

The colors you mentioned are very nice and appropriate for a GT Ferrari like the Roma. I test drove a Grigio Silverstone example and my wife & I thought l it certainly a handsome choice for the Roma.

However, I don't think you'll make the 12 K - or whatever it costs to get a historic color these days - based on my reading here on F-chat. It seems high cost options return pennies on the dollar. I think the biggest issue is limiting the buyer pool to those who may want your specific rare color combo. In my case, once my wife fixated on avorio for our California, that cut the pool of applicants to low single digits. The car we eventually bought was for sale for many months.

However, insofar as colors are concerned, I think as long as you don't go for some outlandish color combination, there should be a buyer at the right price. Good luck, you have a great "problem" in front of you!

Thanks Tom, Very helpful. Some of the historic colors are pretty awesome but it feels like silverstone is the way to go. Haven’t seen it in person on a Roma but I’ve seen quite a few photos and love it. Happy Holidays!

Your should try to see the colors in person. My wife loved Argento Nurburgring from pics. In the flesh, no way! That being said, we bought an avorio F-car without ever having laid eyes on a Ferrari in that color. 5 years later, we're still in love with it. Happy Holidays...T

I always like grigio fumo in the grey palette, but also grigio Ingrid which isn’t even really grey to me...and probably too light for the Roma.
