Porsche's Carrera GT laps the Nurburgring in 7:37 under crappy conditions. Rohrl says he can shave another half second or so off that time under better conditions. I read that Schumacher(spell??) took an Enzo on the ring but the time was not "officially recorded". Why?

Dare I say it but maybe Ferrari know as supreme a F1 driver Michael is that he would not be a match for Rohl around the 'Ring (bear in mind that Rohl spends half his life there)

It was probably a combination of things. They know that Walter Rohrl is ring meister and the CGT was heavily tested by him. It is essentially a car built for walter rohrl, driven by Walter at his favourite course.

The Enzo might be close to the CGT there, but even in the hands of a master like Rohrl it probably won't be as quick just because of Rohrl's work with the CGT. Schumacher though insanely quick would need a lot of time there to get up speed and on top of that I doubt he actually put as much time into the Enzo as Rohrl did into the CGT.

Also the CGT has a 7:28 in good conditions now.

Basically the CGT is an extension of Rohrl's mind. A car tuned by him to be him. He is one with the CGT.
    Sorry to sound all philosophical!

I read somewhere that Rohl got his hands on an Enzo and liked it, said it was really quite similar, didnt record times or anything, but I doubt the enzo would be embarassed or anything, maybe a 7:35 orless if the CGT can do 7:28.
