Yeah, in my dreams. I'm just boasting. Maybe 1%, maybe 10%? My help was all indirect. I gave detailing advice to those (the Klings) who helped the owner after our rivalry on the Jag concours field in '01 and '02. The Klings extended an offer to help but I declined. I had no idea what Pebble Beach was. I didn't give a rats about a show with other cars in Northern California. I certainly wasn't going to miss work to detail a stranger's car. I balked at paying $100 for a car show pass on top of the hotel room. I was just a 25 year old with a knack for car care and his first real car. My how times change. I'm sure you will recognize it, since its a Ferrari. Maybe you have an idea what it is and who owns it. If its rare enough to go to Pebble, its well known. The Klings took some high res pics that day including what looks like a 50's 250 GT LWB (thats all I can make out from teh plaque) if you keep a Pebble archive. 410 Superamerica s/n 0717SA. Was at Pebble in '02 (which is central California, by the way). Owners were Wayne and Marilyn Nelson of Longwood, FL.
Central might as well be Northern, if they aren't with us, they're against us. Here's 3 F-car pics that need ID'ed and 2 more of why I wish I had gone that year. It always comes down to money why I can't go or I'd go every year. The first three are 315 S s/n 0684, 250 GT LWB "Tour de France" s/n 0967GT and 250 GTO (1964) s/n 5575GT. The others look to me to be a Jag SS 100 and C-type, of which I would have no clue what the s/ns were.
Bit of trivia on 315 S s/n 0684. Ferrari NA had Enzo Naso create a lithograph of that car. It was given away as a judge's gift at the 2000 Cavallino Classic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No idea here either. The SS100 was flown in from England specifically for the show. A local club member's SS100 wasn't assembled for paint in time for the show but I think he made it in '03. I had already left the club and was sucked into the F-car world by Matt at this point. Things have never been the same since.
Oh yeah!! Time to break in the polishing pads and the machine glaze. Scratches? We don't need no stinkin' scratches!
Sunny has worked hard to de-throne the dominatrix of detailing....I think it goes to him next. Perhaps "Emperor of Buff and Puff?"
Venus, perhaps?? "Matteo's dream girl" "Can benchpress Gentry" "Puts the Grrrrr in Grrrl" ROFLMAO Frances, choose wisely
