The the dumbest thing I ever heard. The only reason you are harping on this case is to add fodder to your stupid statements that Senna, not the car killed himself and that MS is the greatest !!

All the court ruled was that Williams did not do something (modify the steering column) that was against the rules set up by the FIA to ensure that the cars meet a minimum saftey standard.

Does that mean the car was not to blame or played no part in Senna's death. NO IT DOESN'T.

Case in point go to my local track and try to hit some predetermined lap time in my new Ferrari F430. Let's say I do a 1:30 for reference and come back into the pits. Next session I take a Chevy Malibu out and try to set the same lap time but crash into a wall and kill myself because the car simply cannot perform to the level of the F430.

Am I partly to blame for trying to push the car too hard when it cannot perform as well as the F430 ...... sure !!!

But can the car be blamed as well .............. sure. It meets all the NHTSA and DOT requirements but it simply cannot perform the same as a F430 in terms of handling and stability.

All the court ruled was that Williams met the minimum standards set by the FIA.

According to your theory all cars are equal and because someone kills himself in a sh*tbox Minardi means the driver is to blame. The Minardi is a Yugo in terms of its handling ability and stability. Ever see Albers or anyone else drive those barges in qualifying. The car looks like it could leave the track and head toward the moon at any moment. Those evil handling cars look like they are possesed.

Why don't you give it a rest with your "Senna" bashing and stick to cheering for the men in red. You spend an inordinate amount of time bashing Senna and his accomplishments and seem to have some extreme fear of his place in motorsports history every time he is mentioned. You seem to have some inferiority complex or insecurity when he is mentioned that you need to resort to your "kindergarten" comments like comparing Senna to HHF.

The fact that you don't seem threatened by the mention of other multiple world champions shows me you consider them less of a threat to Schumacher's place in motorsports as the greatest driver ever.

Senna is dead.......what the hell does it really matter what some court in Italy (a country known for extreme corruption by Western standards) rules about a steering column nearly 11 years after the man left us.

I am sure we could find plenty of unsafe stuff about Ascari's car. You want to open that case up too.

I am and have been for a long time a great Senna fan, but at the end of the day I don't really care what all the different theories promote in terms of why he died.

He died because he had a passion for driving a race car. He led the last lap of the last race of his life. Plain and simple.

We should all be so lucky as to die doing the activity that brings us the most joy, rather than passing away in some hospital bed or old folks home.

    Cheers,

This post gets a 10/10 ! Excellent post, Jon. :)

PS : For some reason, I found the part about the Minardis threatening to leave the track and head for the moon hilarious, it made me burst out laughing. It's almost literally true ! :D

The case can't be over when the House Assassinations
Committee declared 16 years after that awful day in
1963 that four bullets were fired at the motorcade,
one more than three bullets identified by the Earl
Warren Commission, including the so-called "magic
    bullet".
