Yeah that can be a bit of a problem alright. The nice thing about the Agency Power system (and several others) is that they have valves similar to the factory exhaust which allows you to tame the noise when required. This was an issue for me when deciding what system to use as I didn't want to upset the neighbours or cause undue attention at all times.

my brother seems to think it sounded better and louder before disconnecting, i am now doubting this and want to plug it back in to test.. it does not sound as mean as before at high revs for some reason? or i mite just be used to is being loud at low revs?

With valves working you get a fairly sudden transition between tame and loud at the 3000 rpm WOT position so the effect is, by comparison, quite significant.

With the valves in always-open position you don't get that sudden transition which I'd say is what's causing your brother's comment.

    Gents,
I've also read (have to find it) that the valves when closed create the necessary back pressure to build torque more quickly at low RPM's. For this reason, I bought the Tubi exhaust for my 360 with valves. Hoo boy did I pay dearly for that but at least it keeps the entire system functioning in the same manner as the Ferrari engineered stock system, just louder and slightly more powerful and with much nicer tips.
For those of you who are interested in this particular Tubi system (with valves), I should mention that they absolutely do not include the required mounting brackets for a stock 360, which set me back an additional $450.

Sorry to re-open an old thread but I just recently got my 360 with stock everything.
I was looking into what a few guys said as far as the Capristo Remote system. I can't seem to find where to order something like this? Anyone have any idea's or links? I checked website, can't seem to find any order forms etc.
Thanks in advance and i apologize if i'm just being dumb. :)

Whoops, spoke too soon...Here is the link

Only if you have a special software update. Although this is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation, Ferrari has a secret WiFi hook up in the 360 central computer ROM. Just send me 500 bucks and your VIN and I can download it in 5 minutes from right here.

Unpluging the right side valve was easy, the left side is another matter. To get at the left side i had to remove the far left taillight to reach the valve, maybe I have a different smog setup or something.

I did the unplu thing which definatley made it louder at idle - but seemed to affect the bottem end power a bit. In the end I bought a Kreissieg F1 - quite expensive - but comes with a remote FOB to open and close valves.

Worth every cent if you want that F1 sound, there is noting like it - also about 20 kgs (40lbs?) lighter and increased power.

I also like the sound of the Tubi, but I recommend the Kreissieg.

if you want loud go with a x-ost leman racing exhaust for 360....if you can still order it. I have that on mine...and so far i haven't heard any f car louder...sometimes its too loud, but i got used to it. The kreissig sounds higher pitched but i think mine may be louder. When it gets up there, it sounds real good..have gotten many compliments. It is very loud at idle too.
Much louder then tubi for sure...i have a friend with tubi and side by side his is extremely quiet. I have a another friend with capristo racing on his 430...mines still louder. The one reason i have a hard time selling my car is because of the sound ..lol

I took this video a week ago at Spa-Francorchamps. I drive a 360 with Larini exhaust, though here you mostly hear the engine. Still like the sound though. The Larini comes close to a CS I think. Keeps a high pitch at high revs. Bit less loud than a CS, which avoids problems on some tracks. I did put the OEM valves back though, as I was getting deaf on highways.

Can anyone confirm if it actually effects the bottom end power by unplugging? Theres has been a few that have brought this up and now I'm curious. :)

I think you need to hear from someone technical - I'm not. But from what I've read, disconnecting the valves, reduces backpressure which would otherwise be present at the lower rev range. Whith the valves connected: when the valves open, you get a real increase in power - that we all can feel when driving. When the valvles are locked in th eopen position, the power delivery is definatly more linear, and that 'boost' feeling (around 4000 RPM) is absent. So it 'feels' like there is less bottom end power - though I'm not sure if there 'is' actually less powe, but it does change how it feels.

Any Ferrari techs or tuners out there that can provide advice or compared on a dyno?

Thanks for the nice replies! I think driving at Spa in a Ferrari is simply heaven (well...at least when it doesn't rain...).

Concerning the valves; there will be some loss of power at low revs, but the effect is too small to see the difference in you 0-60mph time ;) I didn't hear any Tubi drivers complain about though :D

    Hey all,

Just got turned on to this thread. I recently picked up a stock '04 360 6-speed Spider with the factory racing (sport?) exhaust. As I'm looking for a more pronounced sound, I inquired about adding a Tubi - and the vacuum switch trick was recommended to me.

One thing that this thread is missing is an actual sound comparison. Weather permitting I'll be able to take the car out on Tuesday and take a brief video. That'll be pre-vacuum trick. In the next few weeks, once completed, I'll post a video post-vacuum trick.

    TBD but I'm excited!

My 360 F1 Spider w Tubi has more torque and more hp than my old F355 F1 GTS w Tubi. The F355 sounds better (5 valves) but the 360 is more fun to drive and sounds almost as good.

I like the better low end torque on the 360. ;)

The 360 still have 5 valves per cylinder. The variable intact tract and exhaust setup along with the extra displacement unfortunately offer more flexibility and power at a loss vocally.

With an aftermarket exhaust above 4000 rpm the 360 is thrilling though.

A quick update on my end; per the recommendation of this thread, I had my dealership (WWoC in Spring Valley) perform this modification on my '04 360 Spider. Night and day! It sounded great previously - but now it's a completely different animal. So happy that I had it done.

I intended on taking a video this evening - but it's really, really cold out. The next time I take her out..

I dont have the factory racing exhaust, I ahve the stock exhaust with a few broken baffles inside. I have been told that the racing exhaust is quite loud and also told its barely any louder than the stock. I really think its at the point where you have to hear them IN PERSON, not sound clips. I almost bought one over the holidays, my dealer made me a offer I still think I should not have refused.

The rattle in my system drives me crazy but I don't want anything louder, its fine just the way it is.

Since I can't find anyone with a factory racing exhaust to listen to, I will either go with

1: 430 exhaust modified to fit as I am told it does not increase the sound, but it is different.
    2. stock 360
    3. Capistro twin sound, I am told its only a few decibels louder until the valves open up.

Just trying to decide and get it done...

That video doesn't do the exhaust justice. You have to hear it at wot! Very short clip of me on the way home from picking up mine today after the racing/sport exhaust install.
