My 355 has fairly new pads and rotors, but the squealing just before it stops makes me crazy. Here you are pulling up to a light in this beautiful Ferrari and it sounds like a rusted-out beater. I had the rotors turned, sanded the pads, but a few stops later, it'sssss back. Has anyone sprayed anything on them that works?
Please help and speak loudly so I can hear you over the squealing. Thanks.

Did you put any "break quiet" on the backs of the pads? If not give that a try.

You can get it at any auto parts store. It comes in either a spray can or a squeeze bottle. You will need to remove the pads and then spray/smear it on the back of the pad, the side that faces the caliper piston NOT the pad itself that touches the rotor. $5 or so should be what it costs for a can/tube.

Dont waste your time or money... I have the same humiliating and frustrating problem.
I put enough brake-quiet on my pads for 10 cars (twice, with 2 different high-end products)... made absolutely no difference.
Its the pads, do a search in this section, many guys claim they have used specific brands of pads that dont squeal.

I'm about to put Porterfield R4-S pads on my car, does anyone know these to be squealers?

I have these on my 348 and no squeal with very litle brake dust.

I switched from race pads that came with the car. They stopped great and no fade on the track and were pretty quite with hard braking, but squealed like a pig if I even thought about light braking on the street.

You may want to try Portefield pads.

I use WURTH high temp anti-sieze (same copper stuff used elsewhere on the car) - works great for brake pads.

I put them on my 355, and was relieved to finally have quiet brakes. For street use, they are at least equivalent to the oem pads. I actually found them to be superior at initial application, and no fade. Track use might be another story though.

Brake dust is at least half what the oem pads produce.

I put them on my car, and they squeel about half the time. My race-car "baptism by fire" method of deglazing did not make a difference. I wish I had bought Ferodo ds2500.

When you pull them out to put some quiet stuff on the back, make sure the direction arrow is going the right way. I hear that if you put them in wrong they will make a lot of noise. Not sure why though. On my 355 I just made the exhaust louder and that solved the problem. On the 456, I had to actually spend some time working on the issue.

Also I found another thing that was causing noise on my 456. I didn't take pictures since I didn't really think about it at the time, but the edge of the pad was just a bit off the edge of the rotor. This caused a little lip on the pad which I thought might have been rubbing the rotors when they were hot. I just sanded that edge down to an angle and yet another noise was gone. This was only on the back ones.

I tried some vaseline on mine. Worked great. Trouble is, the car wouldn't stop anymore. ;)

I know exactly how you feel! I have the same problem when coming to a slow stop. Squeals really bad in reverse! Very embarrassing. On my next service, I'm going to have the pads checked to see if any are overlapping the rotors. Hopefully grinding edges will resolve problem.

I think I will give them a shot. Seems like a good deal from Ricambi. Thanks for the insight.

That's good to know, as I am quite fond of making a throttle-abundant entrance onto the freeway as well as into the twisties, so braking capabilities are a huge concern (especially with all the bicyclists in NorCal). Thanks for the response, they're being installed in about a week!

I guess half the time is better than all the time. Just curious, do you know what the rotor wear is like with the Ferodo's?

Also, how the h$ll do I do a multiquote?
