    Hello all;

As you know, there's an event called "Running of the Bulls" each year. This year, it runs from Reno to Monterey and it runs around August 16-19th. The weekend is spent in Monterey attending the Historic Races (rife with vintage Ferraris and other classic sports cars).

However, after speaking with the event organizer, Jim Heady, it was clear that there may be room for an alternative event running from Southern California direct to Monterey.

SP Engineering, a popular Lamborghini tuner, has agreed to allow us to meet up there on Wednesday, August 17th, for a run to the event.

I am proposing the following route:

Day 1 Wednesday: Depart OC early in the AM, about 9AM, should put us in Santa Barbara around 1PM for lunch. Head to Pismo Beach to get there around dinner time.

    Day 1 Night:

    Pismo Beach overnight

Day 2 Lunch stop, about 50 miles from Pismo Beach
http://www.hearstcastle.org/tours/tour_2.asp Maybe not time enough to do a full tour, but a lunch would be good.

Continue on about 90 miles up PCH/Hwy 1 to Monterey to our destination on this picturesque bit of road.

If there is enough interest, I will happily work to put together group rates and make all of the arrangements. I will also cover the event for Modified Magazine's "Luxury and Exotics" title and will likewise work to procure DVD and TV coverage.

However, to continue, I need to get a real feel for the level of interest and commitment.

I'd develop a package that would include the hotel for the first stop, plus the food stop, etc. and if this is green lit, participants would pre pay. There would be no charge of course to go on the tour.

I plan on procuring goodie bags of car care products for us as well.

Anyway, please email me your interest to:
    [email protected]

Feel free to call me directly at 949 632 5917 to discuss.

Its' official...this is a "go." This event will start in Orange County, at SP Engineering.

Details are taking shape but it'll be open to all Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Bentley, Maserati and other high end exotic cars.

Thus far, we have Modified's "Luxury & Exotic" magazine as a major sponsor.

I am close to securing a gasoline sponsor which will hopefully provide gas to the first 50-100(?) cars.

I am close to finalizing a car care products sponsor.

Goodie bags will not only include car care products, but "goodies" for your lady companions.

I am working on a tire sponsor (my proposal basically asks for a free replacement tire for any tire destroyed on our journey).

The basic route is from OC through Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, San Simeon and up PCH to our final destination, Monterey.

The goal is to arrive the Thursday before Concorse so that Italian car owners can attend Concorso Italiano and so the rest of us can attend the Monterey Historics this weekend.

Since Running of the Bulls runs from Reno this year, I have organized this event with the blessing of the Lamborghini club director as an alternative for those who don't wish to drive quite so far.

I welcome volunteers to help spread the word, perhaps build a website and for segment leaders within each community (i.e. Porsche).
