Don't mean to be negative, but the weather is not looking good for the weekend Image Unavailable, Please Login
come to Ticino on saturday, sunny day on preview... Anyway I am not coming to Zh if the weather is bad...
You are not negative but just realistic - unfortunately this weekend may rather not be F-weather.... There might even be considerable local risks (hail...- see the image below from Monday (Breitenbach SO)) - we may need to postpone the event, but in German we use to say "die grösste Freude ist die Vorfreude!" Unfortunately the weather forecast for Sunday does not look really good and I guess most (or even all) of you will not come to Zurich if it is raining. My only hope is that sometimes the actual weather is better than the forecast Lets do it this way: - I will be there anyway (my F-cars are water proof ) - If others are not afraid to drive their Ferrari in rain I would be glad to see you there. Just check the weather Sunday morning before you would drive off and then decide basing on the weather that is out of the window (and not the forecast) - I will organize a second meeting anyway in about a months time and will let you know Hope to see some of you Sunday morning despite the bad weather. Markus
Hi Markus I will probably not join if the weather is bad. I was only planning on joining for an hour or 2 anyway. BTW there is a hill climb, Kerenzerberg near Walensee, at the end of May. Might be a suggestion for a meeting point and an excuse to watch some old racing cars? Kerenzerberg Revival > Kerenzerberg Revival > Glarnerland und Walensee
Markus, the weather frogs have been proven wrong in the past on numerous occasions. Therefore, I think it is a sound advice to check the weather on Sunday morning as you proposed. I will do so before deciding definitively. But if there will be rain or heavy rain clouds, I have to cancel as well. May I suggest to schedule the second meeting rather within weeks than in about a months time? The season is quite short and planing for a next meeting in the beginning of June (if weather is fine then at all) we end up in the typical vacation season (June/July) when maybe not all members are able to join. Against the background of our plans to meet several times this summer to mutually enjoy Switzerlands Alps with our cars and taking the weather uncertainties into account, scheduling rather earlier than later would be beneficial. What do you think? All the best, Martin
The weather forecast for this Sunday is bad as expected. Despite the bad weather forecast I will be at Zurich Mythenquai (50/60) at the parking spot next to the Swiss Re building this coming Sunday from 10.30 AM on. If I am not the only one we can go for a nice tour from Mythenquai to: Buchenegg pass Albis pass Sihlbrugg Unterägeri Raten pass Schindellegi Sihlbrugg Affoltern am Albis (where you have access to the Autobahn) Here is the link to the tour: https://www.google.ch/maps/dir/Mythenquai,+Z%C3%BCrich/Buchenegg,+8143+Stallikon/T%C3%BCrlersee/Albispass,+8135+Albis/Langnau+am+Albis/Unter%C3%A4geri/Raten/Schindellegi,+Feusisberg/Rifferswil/Affoltern+am+Albis/@47.2437899,8.4420654,11z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m62!4m61!1m5!1m1!1s0x479009e2176b3f59:0xe4c06634a57076e6!2m2!1d8.5341139!2d47.3529018!1m5!1m1!1s0x47900813125254c5:0x2af318fc1cb324c1!2m2!1d8.5000313!2d47.3041336!1m5!1m1!1s0x4790078cecaa2819:0x6f2ac278e3274813!2m2!1d8.5020592!2d47.2691575!1m5!1m1!1s0x479aa81b955fbbb3:0x7b3a8dac429b4685!2m2!1d8.52068!2d47.2759!1m5!1m1!1s0x479aa842814d1c01:0x2dc101aab87621eb!2m2!1d8.5365507!2d47.2880053!1m5!1m1!1s0x4785534f9cebeed3:0x208a503bb6b8a1c2!2m2!1d8.5816011!2d47.1370918!1m5!1m1!1s0x479aad606172463b:0xd068d5a4425e14bd!2m2!1d8.663611!2d47.141944!1m5!1m1!1s0x479ab247d1d2bea3:0xf06808aa859406bd!2m2!1d8.7120633!2d47.1745577!1m5!1m1!1s0x4790077b8d8acd05:0xbabed1cdbf0e0979!2m2!1d8.49602!2d47.2419!1m5!1m1!1s0x4790063b6ba0d22b:0xc03aa3750b1c2d95!2m2!1d8.4503277!2d47.2775064!3e0 I am aware that most of you dont drive your car in the rain and I will come back to you with a new date for the next meet up and tour in a couple of days. The first Ferrari owners meeting in Zurich was a great success A total of 3 owners (including me) made it through the rain: - Remo with his 348 ts - William with his 360 Spider - And me with my 575M HGTC Here is the proof that we were there Markus Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What about Thursday, May, 14th (Ascension Day) for our next meet up? Same time (10.30 AM) and same place (opposite to Swiss Re on the parking place near Mythenquai 50/60) in Zurich. Hoping the weather will be better Who is in? Markus
First, congratulations to the three who made it there! Nice pics - thanks for posting! Ascension Day sounds perfect and considering the actual weather(forecast), there can't be any rain left by mid of May ... cu all d.
Thank you for sharing! I guess even today you had more fun with your Ferraris than the rest of us with our garage queens I am in on May 14th. Cheers!
Hope you guys had a great drive! I will be there the 14th, looking forward to the drive and meeting some fellow Ferrari owners. Robin
Excellent, thanks for the pics Markus. Damn, 14th is not easy. I have a family so public holidays are not my free time, the family decides But I will do my best to join.
Great you are in Robin!! Great, William! Hope your bearing is fixed by then. Hope your family lets you go! I have 4 kids but this is no issue since the youngest is 16 years old. We will only meet if the weather is fine (dry roads). Now you just have to convince your GF Maybe she whants to join us too? Too bad, Jacky!! Hope you can make it the next time we meet. Here is the actual list so far Markus Image Unavailable, Please Login
For all of you who want to come to a longer tour with Remo and me (and some other guys with nice cars): Remo is organizing a really nice tour the next day (15th of May): Tour 054 | Apollon da Pragel! - Open Air Tours? - Cabriolet- & Sportwagen-Touren die bewegen! (the site is in German language only) Markus
Hi everybody I'm Paulo and I live in Bern. Even though I don't have an F car now ( he will come on day Eheh ) i just want to leave you guys with an idea. How about a national Ferrari meeting??!! Not local, not cantonal but with owners from all over lovely Switzerland?! We would have more than 200 cars. Imagine grand touring a bit in the highway then city then mountain pass. It would be epic and it starts right here! Please give a push to this idea! I will join you on day Paulo
Paolo That is already existing. See here: EURO Ferrari DAY - EURO Ferrari DAY - powered by Contrexx Web Content Management System BTW: Did you see the team on the website to organize this event? Not sure if I want to do that But you are welcome to join our small club on our next meet up May, 14th. Cheers Markus
