How were the meets this weekend? The weather wasn't the best but I'm sure there were some very cool cars out and about.
I was attending the Ferrari Day in Sempach and met Marcel Massini, Remo with his wife Claudia and some other gentlemen. The weather could have been better and there were about 100 F-cars there. Could have been more Plus this year one had to pay CHF 50 as driver and I guess there were some owners who did not attend because of this. Here are some pics on the official homepage: EURO Ferrari DAY - EURO Ferrari DAY - powered by Contrexx Web Content Management System Markus
Hi guys Any pics from one of the numerous events last weekend? This Saturday, I will join Markus and Remo on the Nördliche Kalkalpen Tour mentioned by Markus above. Family life and work-related issues allow me to probably join only once in September. Therefore, if the Kalkalpen Tour takes place (depending on the weather), this will probably be my single shot for this month. Still hope for Ferrari worthy weather in Oktober. Cheers! Martin
Thought that some of the Swiss FChatters on here might like to know that you can find Leather Master (Dr Tork / Uniters) 2x150ml leather care kits in Micasa for CHF34.90. I bought a 2x250ml kit online recently for about CHF55.- shipped from the US so not too far off in price. For those that don't know, this is reputedly the same Poltrana Frau endorsed stuff that you can buy from your dealer in a nice yellow Ferrari box for circa $300 (although those kits are more comprehensive). I was on a nice and looooooooong tour with Remo: Open Air Tours? - Cabriolet- & Sportwagen-Touren die bewegen! - Open Air Tours? - Cabriolet- & Sportwagen-Touren die bewegen! I left home at 6.45 and returned at 22.45. We were three F-cars (Remos 348, Martins [mdoc3] 360 and my 512TR) as well as some Porsches, a Lexus, and a Mercedes. Martin (and others who want to bring their car to Romanshorn) While I had my Maserati serviced by Karl from Erlengarage in Romanshorn the company just opposite to Karl (Bernhard Ernst from Fibre Seal, Fiber Seal Ostschweiz) took care of the leather of my Maserati. The drivers seat had to be repainted (I tried to fix some issues but made it worse ). I paid CHF 600 (plus VAT) for repainting the drivers seat and cleaning the leather of the whole car. One week later they cleaned my 512 TR for CHF 350 and both cars came out really well! I can strongly recommend this small shop. Markus
Simon Do you know Autobau from Fredy Lienhard in Romanshorn? See Willkommen in der Welt von autobau | autobau.ch. There is a museum with several street and race cars from Fredy Lienhard. Including some nice F-cars (including a LaF), some Lambos, Porsches etc. as well as some F1 cars and others. The museum is open to the public during Sunday afternoons and it is absolutely worth a visit (also with the family). There is even a small race track there. Part of the Autobau is the Auto Factory with several shops for repairing, painting etc. One of these shops is Erlengarage of Karl Tobler: Ferrari-Werkstatt in Romanshorn im Thurgau: Autogarage Karl is servicing F-cars (and others) and knows a lot about Ferraris. I had the impression he is servicing more Testarossa/TR/M than the official dealers together. Plus he is much cheaper than the official dealers/shops. An engine out service for my 512 TR would be around CHF 5 000. I have my 512 TR there and recently he serviced my Maser 3200. Next to him is Fibre Seal, I mentioned in my post above. They care about the leather in a really professional manner. So if you do not already know them, I suggest to visit the museum as well as Karl. Plus, you have to attend the Swiss Cabrio day organized by Remo (also with a fixed roof car) which also takes place at Autobau: swisscabrioday? - 1 Tag für's Offenfahren! - Open Air Tours? - Cabriolet- & Sportwagen-Touren die bewegen! Nice pics guys! Wish I could have joined, not much time left now until car goes into storage. Will check out Autobau in Romanshorn next Sunday if weather permits, and of course the Swiss Cabriolet day is a must. I am looking for a company that does complete "detailing" of the car e.g. removes all wax, buffers out the "swirls" in the paintwork, corrects small scratches and fix small "dings", and then apply a solid coat (swisswax or the like). Any suggestions? I have used these guys for "standard" cleaning and wax: Convenient Car Care | Mobile Car Wash & Valet Services Zurich They come to your home or work so is quite convenient and the price is very reasonable.
Thanks for the reply Markus. Yes, I know Autobau well, I have even thrown a Maserati GTS around the small track there. Last time I was there was last summer when I met Marcel Massini with his then new F12. BUT, I wasn't really aware of the workshops operating there. Christoph Stieger did tell me there was one guy working there but I got the impression it was more private and mostly for the Leinhard collection.
Yes, there is one shop/person working on the cars of Fredy Lienhard or Christoph Stieger (nut sure for who). And there is Erlengarage who is working for "ordinary clients such as we are All these shops are on the right side of the small track when you are looking at the track from the museum. Markus
William You can go to Swissvax for detailing your car: www.swissvax.ch. I dont have any experience with them personally but I am sure there are some guys here who can help you. Markus
