    They're totally different.

    $20k the ballpark correct price.

The price would be about right if the kit was right, but as I stated above in this thread, there are inconsistences and a few wrong parts in the make up of the kit.

Its the little differences that combined make the big difference, its either right or wrong. With these cars now held in such high esteem, trading in the price bracket of works of art, it has to be right down to every last detail.

Couldn't agree more. My comment was directed at the "it's like a TR set".

That set obviously has the wrong pliers, it's missing the T window wrench, the wrenches are wrong also, at least based on what's visible.

That said, I've seen even main dealers sell kits with the wrong parts. For example, currently there's an F40 kit FS with the Michelin branded gauge.

Actually, the bag might be wrong also if there's no pocket under the pliers, which it doesn't look like there is.

So, the tow hook is correct and the screwdrivers probably.

    Hi
it will be interesting to see what this set goes for on BaT tonight. As, I said on another thread earlier in the week, I have never seen a more complete /perfect set for sale, for me this is the unicorn of Schedoni luggage and Ferrari tool sets.

Ferrari 288 GTO Luggage, Tool Kit, and Literature for sale on BaT Auctions - ending June 17 (Lot #110,835) | Bring a Trailer

I have gone through every photo of this collection; its correct, its original, its complete and it carries the perfect patina.

    cheers Mark

No worries. The winner, FerrariGuru is a Shill Bidder.

Not his first time, nor the last. If you think Bat doesn't know, think again.

And the collusion between a few resellers in the US, UK and NL is obvious.

This is precisely why Bat cannot be trusted as a market indicator.

Hi, it is probably not a bad price given there are many good parts to this kit. The big problem is finding the very rare missing parts, you could easily spend the same again finding the missing/in correct parts.

    my comments....

"Hi, nice tool kit for an F40, but several of the parts are wrong….

the ratchet – that is from a Ferrari 348 or 512 tool kit, someone has painted the red dot on it, but its not from an F40 tool kit, the F40 rachet should have a round head with a red plastic insert. Also the extension looks too long.

The yellow bulb holder could be correct, but it has the wrong bulb and fuses, they are from an older era of car, F40 used a more modern bulb.

The screw drivers should be 2 x flat head and 2x philips head – but there should be a long and a short version of each, not all the same length.

The tire pressure gauge is wrong age, type and colour – for the F40 it should be black bacalite, a different face that should read “WONDER VIGIL ITALY”, and have a different viewing clear plastic.

The tire foam canister is a replacement, although correct style, it should have “Agip per FerrariF40” on the side. This is a very common mistake as they get replaced over time."

Hi, just to keep the thread updated....F40 tow hook

I started this thread back in 2021, at the time I was involved with a couple of low mileage F40s, and Karim's Bloodline F40, so I had access to untouched or very original toolkits, these sets were the base reference for the F40 tool info in this thread.

Since then I have studied many more F40 toolkits in the UK, Europe and the USA - the tow hook attached in the photo appears time and time again. I have no reason to belive now that there are several variations to the tow hook, both being correct.

every day is a day at school!
