The Ultimate Buying Experience

A big grin appeared on my face as I'm reading the email from Kevin at Cats Exotics. It basically said, "Give me your 20K mile Gallardo plus a little cash and I'll deliver this 5K mile Murcielago to your doorstep". I call up Kevin immediately to get more details. "Roy will fly you up to Seattle and taxi you over to his office to scrutinize and drive the car, all on Roy's nickel." Now, that's a deal that I couldn't pass up, since I have been searching for a Murcie in the very rare Monterey Blue color for over a year. Fast forward 24 hours and I arrive at Roy's office garage staring at an alluring array of Lambos. Alongside my coveted Murcie are 3 beautiful Diablos, including 2 rare 6.0s. However distracted by the outrageous Diablos, I still gravitate towards the gorgeous blue Murcie that is sitting directly in front of me. After I perform my requisite walk-around, Roy beckons me to, "Fire it up, let's go for a spin."

So, off we go, roaring down the street in the 580 hp beast! The car is a blast and the torque is phenomenal. I didn't really get an opportunity to open it up, but I got a good sense of the power and handling of the car. After my "joy ride", Roy artfully slides the Murcie back onto the car lift and starts up the Diablo to put underneath. The exhaust in the Diablo just screams and I tell Roy how good the car sounds. "Well, you want a ride in this one, too", he asks. "Hell, yes" I respond and off we went. Let me tell you, the Diablo 6.0 is an absolutely incredible car. The interior is second to none and the car drives fantastically. After driving both the Murcie and the Diablo, it was quite the dilemma to decide which one to get. Ultimately, I decided on the Murcie because it is the car that I've been dreaming about for years. However, one of these days, I'm going to revisit that Diablo 6.0.

Since we had a couple of hours before my flight, Roy tells me that he'll give me a tour of the "Pink Flamingo" house (i.e. his pad). Wow, beautiful house, great backyard with swimming pool, outdoor Jacuzzi and waterfall and best of all, the "exotic" garage. I used to think that I had a pretty decent garage with the Gallardo, R8 and Porsche Twin Turbo. No, nada, those are simply child's play, next to these machines. We're talking about the 1) rare brown Diablo 6.0 SE, 2) super rare Diablo GT (the only legalized one in the US) 3) Nicholas Cage's white Murcie Roadster and 4) Black Carrera GT. After drooling over the cars for awhile, Roy tells me he's going to personally drive me to the airport in the Carrera GT. What a treat! The car is superfast and very smooth. Needless to say, the ride to the airport was quick and quite ironic. I rode in a Prius (taxi) out of the airport and came back in a Carrera GT!

Roy, much thanks to you for your incredible hospitality and generosity. You are a class act and you set the benchmark for other car dealers to follow. Kevin, thanks for all your help putting the deal together and making everything work. I love my new Murcie and I'll be coming back for more cars. (I'm still eyeing that Diablo!)

Brian, you have an incredible eye. It's "Candy Apple Blue", which is about 2 shades darker than Monterey Blue. Nobody could tell the difference until the car was parked side by side with a Monterey Blue Murcie.
