dang... there aren't to many esprit turbos around anymore are there? i think the guy just ruined a car that was probably better than the one he was trying to emulate. -Thomas
Looks like something from Monster garage, it almost looks like it was done as a joke as well, also thats a fairly late esprit if i'm right
That's the point I don't understand: What was he trying to emulate? No Ferrari looks even related to this car. It's like sticking a Ferrari badge onto a Camry.
That would've been ok, theres to many of those on the road....i really want to find this man and just ask him why?
I saw this car at a local Lotus-dealer a few years back, when my brother was looking for his Elise. The vendor said that he was to ashamed of it to put it in his carpark at the front with the other cars ! You should see what he's done to the engine !! I don't have any pictures of it, but he handpainted the letters 'FERRARI' on the engineblock, plus he painted parts of the engine red and blue !!
Jeroen, thx for posting those pictures. The former owner of it is now in prison for setting fire to the pub he owned while working on a motorcycle in the pub at night while smoking a cigarette. In that fire a tentant died and the daughter of the owner suffered severe injuries of which she died after a very intensive traetment in a specialised hospital. He also owned/owns a Merc 500SL that he used to "tune" into a ***-mobil. The "Loturrari" was sold to pay for legal fees. BTW. I sold him the FERRARI-badge that's on the Lotus. That car was very "famous" here, as it was the only Ferrari in town. ps. hope I don't get banned here for selling him that badge. Jurgen
I am just gobsmacked how someone can turn a hald decent car into this, I really thought it was a mock up when I first see it, it really does look like a joke
Totally agree. I thought it was a Fiero based Lotus. I don't understand how somebody could do this to a Lotus, which is a fine car by itself. This thing is not a Ferrari replica of anything, but a ruined Lotus. You don't make a replica by sticking Ferrari stickers onto a car. A replica starts with a body that resembles the original. You only want stickers/badges where the original has it.
It is, I once counted the word Ferrari in/on it and I stopped reaching 30. It really was a shame to look at.
