So since I have started somewhat seriously looking at 430's, I have found a few that I like. I have found two that I really like. One is at my local Ferrari dealer and one is out of state. The car out of state is listed at a lower price ($15k), has less than 100 miles compared to almost 800 locally and has one option that I like but I can certainly live without in the local car. Different colors but that is kind of a toss up for me since I like them both. All that said, what is the value of buying locally? Obviously I wouldn't have to pay for transport to get the car here, registration and title should be easier since the dealership will handle it, etc. but I am more interested in the intangible value of the relationship that comes from buying the car from the local dealer. After having been to the local dealer once or twice and talking with a salesperson for 10-15 minutes each time I am very comfortable with them but it may come down to one deal being substantially better then the other if I decide to pull the trigger on this.

To be clear, if you had the option to be one of two identical vehicles, what is the gap in price you would willingly eat to buy locally?

I went through the same thought process 2 months ago. I could have found a 430 that was very similar for 5-10K less. I decided to purchase from a local dealer. I feel you will be treated better if purchased locally. Good luck with your decision. I can promise you, you will not regret buying a 430, it is epic.

Obviously you are Dealing with a very quality Dealer if you bought from Denver Ferrari. Unfortunately that can not be said for all Dealers. I had chosen my 360 some time ago from Atlanta Georgia and fortunately no regrets even thought I reside in Co. In any event good luck to all new owners. You are certainly buying a quality exotic.

I would buy locally if you find the right car. There are a lot of used 360s and F430s on the market right now, so all else being roughly equal it makes sense to buy from the local dealer. Forget the "intangible" relationship, unless the dealer is beautiful and female and you're single: you will have peace of mind, and someone put things right if/when minor stuff happens after the sale.

If you were looking for something scarcer, like a blu sera Boxer, Daytona Spyder, giallo 308 GTS QV, etc., you probably would have no choice but to broaden your search. Otherwise you'd be waiting for years.

All depends on the presence of a quality local indy shop that can handle the model you select.

I bought my first Ferrari out of the SF Bay area, the second from a small dealer in CT, taken them both to Norwood Performance here in Dallas for service and repairs.

I have always been open to buying a car from a long-distance state but it always turns out I buy a car within driving distance.
But I have always bought cars within a few hours from home.

I think it is the fact that I was looking for a certain car & color combo AND one within driving distance shows up on the market, that creates the catalyst for me to actually take the plunge and buy it.
