Meanwhile I've just been informed that I will be audited by the Office of State Revenue for payroll tax evasion, because I cancelled some employee options in 2019. Will cost my business thousands in staff time, over a nothing event. Payroll tax is a tax on employment, it's the reason so many companies outsource to Asia.

What a ****ing joke, most people outsource to China to maximise their profits due to the high wages paid in Australia, or outsource to Indian sweatshops for the same reason. My uncle was audited by the same people for payroll tax evasion and was told back in 1990 he was up for $2M in back taxes, declared himself bankrupt and sat on the sidelines for 2 years, got back in, stole all of my father's money and his wife's inheritance , opened a butcher chain in Tassie and was going to make a claim on my mum's will for over $250k saying he had looked after her for the last 17 years until my BIL who was with the NSW police found out he was nothing but a lowlife crook who gave money away to start ups in Tassie to make himself look like a big man and took Uncle Harry from channel 7 away on paid holidays on my dad's money ....... I'm just hoping he is either dead or dying from some painful ailment, may he rot in hell for making my mother live in poverty (she was typical of women from that era where the husband looked after all of the finances and trusted this scumbag because he was my father's brother) I agree though, payroll tax is a tax on employment, so why hasn't the LIB govt removed it , Pig iron Bob introduced it ?
