    Hey,

Hopefully, a thread for folk who develop & maintain sites to share ideas, Q's advice etc....

I've just completed my first LAMP ("Linux, Apache, Mysql & PHP") install onto my Ubuntu (10.04) box - The server, DB and PHP are all running as advertised.

Then I poke around, and it seems *everyone* uses what I'd call "high level" IDE's and the like - I am old fart after all..... PHP looks a lot like a shell script to me, but it seems most folk use PHPmyadmin and the like to administer their DB's (?) Comments?

As for pages themselves, Komposer seems well liked?

Then there's codeignitor that's an "MVC" environment?

    Coppermine for images?

So many tools! - The above seem well regarded, but I'd be really interested in hearing comments and what others have in their toolkits etc.....

    Cheers,
    Ian
