The Weekend Aussie BBQ , Vino, Fishing and Driving Thread...

So, here’s what happened.

I got it 15km from the beach house before the temp rapidly went north and then some very iffy noises started to come from the front. I shut it down before it blew up and stopped at the side of the road where I took that pic.

Not shore what to do. Walk 15km back (no) or 30km further to Whyalla (even no-er).

Hmmm. Public holiday. Great.

Anyway called a Whyalla towing mob and a nice lady answered and said she’d be there as soon as she could.
Sure enough 45 minutes later she rocked up, got the OHOS on her truck and got me to the mechanic in the nick of time (he waited around for us to get there. Again - public holiday). She then dropped me off at Whyalla airport where I had a hire car waiting for me - that’s another story. Gotta love non-city folk - which I duly drove back to the beach house and poured myself a large scotch.

Upshot is the mechanic reckons it’ll be no big deal but he’ll have a good look at it next week and let me know.

If it’s ****ed, whom cares. It cost me nothing anyway. But if it can be sorted (and I reckon it can) it’s still a win.

what brand of Scotch was it ???

I just had the best ravioli for dinner. Ever.

Pumpkin and porcini. Bacon, onion, garlic and chilli sauce.

Entree was tempura battered zucchini flower stuffed with ricotta, fresh basil, lemon zest and parmesam.

So you buy "art" from the dot-dot people ?

 

Actually both of those were painted and given to Chloe as gifts by indigenous artists in the communities she worked in in the NT.
She’s spent many months (probably years in total) up there, sometimes as the only nurse and midwife in the community, and delivered God knows how many babies and no doubt helped save many lives.

They love her, and she loves them.

Yet she’s a conservative, and therefore people like Lydia Thorpe, Adam Bandt, and the entire ABC would hate her.

Go figure.
