I set out to get OEM lightweight 458 wheels on a F430, and after lots of maths and tweaks, they are on. Now I am not sure, and I would like to know your thoughts, I got all the offsets right as they sit perfect and flush, I think its made it look newer, but not sure if its lost a bit of its charm! What do you think guys....?? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Think it looks great. Just curious what it took to adapt them? Red ripped the wheels? Adapters? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks guys really appreciate the kind comments after all the work and time its taken to get these to go. Nice its got OEM 20" Light weights on. I will post up how its done, and after a good test drive, I can report no rubbing and pretty much drives the same, maybe a tiny bit more bumpy due to the lower profile tyres. Anyway I just took these, and I have to say, I am swaying towards them, love how the colour matches the vents and diffusers as well, and I think they suit the car making it look a bit SCUD'ish and a lot more up to date! Since you asked.... Wanted to do this but surrendered to the effort involved and got the similar 16M wheels. This looks even better. Kudos for making it work and persevering! It is definitely a step forward in terms of a more modern look. Would like to see a straight on side shot if you've got one. They look absolutely outstanding. Not better, different, so it comes down to personal taste. You will probably find after living with it for a bit, you will think to yourself that you would never go back. That's what happened to me. Seemed strange at first and now I wouldn't want it any other way. You might consider upsizing your calipers, rotors, etc to a big brake kit, this would put it over the top. Here's a good thread on it https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f430-updates.655531/
Thanks for the feedback mate, the 16m wheels sat to far in the arch's for me, I am a stance queen and love wheels to be flush!! Here is a side on shot! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's true, they do sit pretty far in, I was just thinking that yesterday as I walked past it! anyway, AFAIC, you nailed it! that is just simply fantastic
First off, great work figuring out the details to make those work. Modernizes the car. They do look good. I think what may help would be setting the car at euro height. It looks a little high due to the profile. But that’s just my opinion. It should be what makes you feel warm inside lol
I do agree it could do with a drop to make it perfect, but I am not running another low car that catches the bumper on anything more than flat and tells you where you can and can't go!! It will have to stay, and I think the lower profiles have got rid of that huge looking side wall back tyre!!
No there not oem. My wheels were special made. They are 458 but made 19inch with offsets even with the fenders. I tried uploading a pic but having trouble doing that for some reason.....Sorry I should have mentioned they were aftermarket. In much a hurry sometimes
Gotcha, I did so much searching to see if anyone had done it, one thing I am chuffed about is I got the Offsets Millimetre perfect, they sit lovely. Apologies for the poor picture low direct sun!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well mine arer pretty good too but the rear I had to use a 3 mm spacer to get the wheel away from the caliper a little more. Its not a big deal everything's perfect now. I'm glad I did it. There's a thread somewhere here with pictures of my car with it. I don't understand why I can't upload a pic
They look awesome IMHO- That said, I just have to ask- with the endless choices of wheels out there for 430s what made you go through all the fitment challenges (admirable BTW) to put 458 wheels on it? Again- They look great- Just curious is all. Cheers
Hi good question and this is just my opinion! I did actually set out to get 488 wheels to work, which are my favourites, I even bought a set, but the rear offsets are to aggressive, they will not fit. I have tried some after market wheels and they look well, aftermarket, and most do even the real expensive ones, and to me spoil the look of a somewhat elegant car. I have also looked at most of the wheels people have put on the their cars and some to me look shocking, but its all personal taste of course. As I get older I have moved more to OEM and even more so on a Ferrari, and if you I want to be all gangster rude boy wrapper I'd get a Lambo for that, and I have been there done that!! I see the Ferrari as the classy Gentleman's car and the F430 being the epitome and the standard wheels do look great, however, I get bored, I wanted bigger wheels, a slightly different look I went OEM+ Hope that makes sense and its just my opinion
