That poor car - and that MSD isn't doing it any favors - it's not a big block Chevy! Weird. How is he on price? I have no idea what GT4's go for, I sure like them though.

Why is an MSD bad on a GT4?

MSD is garbage on any car - a properly sorted car doesn't need it. If you're going to get rid of points, an Ignitor or similar pointless (pardon the pun) would be much nicer and keeps those horrifying red boxes out of your engine compartment or trunk.

Just my opinion and experience - If that's your bag, go for it - it does work for some people - just not me.

I was just curious. I'm running the Pertronix in my Lotus and have wondered if an MSD would do anything for me. Since the car runs great the way it is, I'll just leave it alone. Thanks!

I have Pertronix in everything I own (except the Mondial which is the only car w/out points) and they are the greatest thing since sliced bread! Love that stuff.

Are big step forward to make gasoline burn properly. I do agree, those boxes are ugly, but they can be hidden. If CDI's were availible in 70's, Ferrari would have used them. instead, they used twin sparkplugs in many racing aplications.

I will double that, my 2.7 carrera runs great on MSD, I also have the Pertronix breakerless kit installed. The car starts easier and it is more powerful on low revs. Yes, the box is a bit huge but it's a breeze to install it..

The price of a new Bosch CDI is also close to 3 times what I paid for my AL6.
