First of all...its her call - shes been contemplating a 997S cabriolet to replace her SL600 and then shes thought about a seden - but after she saw the 430 the other day, she was lured... So she has asked me if its a good idea (her budget) and I wanted to get input from you all. Shes driven our 328GTS often enough, that we call that one hers and the testarossa mine... So she can handle a ferrari manualbox - its just a question of if the 430 is good to use for errands and whatnot... She owns her own business and drive maybe 25miles a day at most... Would you say a 430 spider is something she could deal with, with her schedule? Is the 430 spider available yet?
Im not sure she will settle for a 360, if she cant get the 430, then she'll probably just keep the SL...

    thanks in advance

As a non-owner, i believe today's cars (all of them in fact) are easier to drive than ever, the F430 is no exception! Also, it would be a better car than any other Fcar probably to use for regular errands if the trunk is big enough; if so, go for it!

For what its worth, i wouldnt pay a premium; instead, esp as u seem to want a 6spd; go for a gallardo. more availability, get what u want, and a good price...

Personally I don't think the 430 would be a good car for her and the purpose intended. If where you live is like the rest of us this car is a magnet for vandalism and for stuff to happen. If you and her could care less and don't mind dealing with that then it makes sense. I would just think for hopping around she might be better off in a lower profile vehicle.

Well the area we live in has no problem with vandalising and such. Either place, in italy or france are very upscale locations.
But I agree that, for her purpose it could be too upscale and at the same time the waiting list is massive.

Silly question. Buy her the 430 and if she does not drive it, you can.

Not to mention the outrageous prices. They're going for $300k+USD here.

300, is rather heafty, not even only for this situation but any any... spend perhaps 30-40 grand additional and you can have a murcielago barchetta...

Thanks for notifying me on that, becuase I wasn't aware of its cost.

    - i'll let her know, and see what she wants to do...She bought the SL herself and plans on buying this next car...but perhaps she may pass it by if its nearly 290k (euro).

If its what she really wants perhaps its better for her to pick up a used one in 2 yrs time or perhaps a yr and half. But shes not a car nut much less a ferrari nut, so she will probably keep her mercedes until abit later.

That she does... shes an artist to be exact, used to have her own interior design studio and made a business out of it...
I'll see if i have any photos of her mercedes- the combinations she selected are very nice.

Alright, I will contact you. :)

    ____________

I was suppost to fly out this evening but booked too late, so now I am leaving on Friday.
I gave her a ring and explained a few things, and some of the input from here. The main thing is, if the availability is on hold, she isn't interested... Depending on how long she would have to wait, she might go for it. She finally tells me she sold some commercial property, from one of her old offices in Paris and was able to make this move . So, basically if she makes the change to any other spider/cabriolet, she wants it to be drastic. At the same time, it isn't that big of a deal to her (since shes not very informed on exotics or any car for that matter) to go for another option or keep the SL abit longer. So her budget (according to the profit made from the commercial property) is around 500,000.... Surely she could afford loads of things, but im sure she doesn't intend on spending every thousand.

post up some potential options, for her....for example a murcielago barchetta may not be a good option for her, as she wont even touch the diablo at the house...:)

    ciao!
