When I was a young fella in Florida I did a lot of free diving, what we called " Face Plate Fishing". It was before SCUBA so we had to hold our breath and use home made spear guns built from bamboo sections and steel curtain rods. Anyway, I met up with a ray that looked an awful lot like that thing...and just as big.

True, but 'Wobblin' Goblin' is a better name for a sculpture!

Yeah, and I'll bet it "wobbled" quite a bit, especially when in the propwash of a B-36!

Based on the films I have seen of it trying to hook up you are right.

It's a really good thing that thing never went into production. Can you imagine being a fighter pilot all suited up and trying to be cool walking up to the flight line with a row of those parked there. It's like trying to be cool on prom night driving your mothers Gremlin.

I saw one somewhere, maybe Wright Pat? It's as small as it looks.
