1. 2003 Mercedes ML320. So vague you don't even have to watch where you are going, may as well look at the scenery, because steering it doesn't make a great deal of difference. 2. 1965 Ford Cortina. Redefines the word, understeer. 3. 2006 Vovo C70 Convertible. All the structural rigidity of a piece of licorice. Image Unavailable, Please Login
1989 Ford Fiesta - rented one that was brand new (less than 50 miles on the clock)... felt like it was already worn out. Memorable only because it was so bad.
Worst car? Plenty of choices really. Any Ford/GMH product the Australian public bought in the 1960/1970's. Worst Sports Car (by far) very early 2 valve injected Mondial POS.
Extend that into the 80's? My parents had a Holden Camira.. horrid thing to drive.. a friend actually bought one, a "top of the line" SL/E or whatever.. must have been built on a very bad Friday.. sent back to dealer numerous times.. fundamentally unfixable. Going back to 70's (didn't get to drive this one) in the UK they hired a Morris Marina.. yikes even as a kid and as passenger I could tell it was beyond terrible. It actually got up to 70mph on the motorway but I don't recommend it..
Funny, I drove one for a day in about 2005. Hardly a staggering performer, but this one was well sorted, and it drove very nicely. Heaps of room, good vision and steered nicely. Interior a bit 80s but otherwise it was good. Joe Vodopic, who clearly has excellent taste in cars used to do 2.00 minutes in his Mondial Qv at the Island. A very, very respectable time. At the other end of the Mondial scale, I drove Dave Thursby's lovely Mondai Cabriolet T through the canyons in Santa Monica. It will remain with me one of the drives of my life, wonderful! I don't like Mondials but Dave's school bus was very nice to get around in and had surprisingly nice torque Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
worst car I ever drove was an HK Holden, they hadn't even heard the word "steering" when these things were bulit .... the EH felt like a sports car compared to it The original E types I drove were crap, Bobby's car is NO E type My fiat2300s was a PIG below 80 mph, but above that speed it drove exactly like the Ferrari Honda S600 was a brilliant car but very delicate MGB was and is still rubbish, you have to do the same thing to them as Bobby did to his E type, ..... change the WHOLE car and it will be 'ok'
coming to dinner tomorrow night Big Boy ? get Rosco to come along as well, the Steamworks can do without him for a night
Nahh, gonna miss it Big Boy. Ross is O/S BTW. Been attending to some family matters, Dad's not so well therefore doing my best to get my brother cut out of the will.
I have driven soooooooooo many bad cars I wouldn't know where to start. It'd be easier to tell you about the ones that surprise you by how good they are. I bought a Golf R DSG today, better than I thought it would be - has a fair bit of character.
