Nick Saridakis This guy is such a wormy little moron. Okay here's my story. I've been seriously looking for a Ferrari for a long time now, and since my business is doing very well, I've been almost dying to finally own one, and I am financially, ready to buy any model I want. I've had my Ferrari expert friend come along with me during about 5 or 6 private-party inspections from sellers in my area, but I am growing so tired of the hunt, that I decided maybe I'll just pay the damn premium dealers charge, and buy my first Ferrari from a Ferrari dealer. I believe most Ferrari dealers probably wouldn't sell problemed cars, and I trust the fact they they of course value their reputation. So I got in my car and headed to Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley, NY to go shopping. I already knew from their website they had 2 cars of interest to me, a blue 328 and a red Testarossa, and I knew they had a huge backyard of cars sitting that are being repaired, so I could start expanding my horizons because I'm so picky with Ferraris. Both the cars they did have for sale promised to be in great condition. Although I wanted to see in person if blue could perhaps grow on me, as I have been so picky for my own good with Ferrari colors, and the selections of used Ferraris from the 80s (the only era I like) is already scant, that perhaps I need to just settle for any color. I get to WWoC and when I walk inside there's nobody around, so I browse alone. I decided I don't really like the 328 in dark blue that they had, and the red Testarossa, while looking beautiful, was maybe too flashy, I prefer white or black, but I could adapt to red... Nick Saridakis enters the showroom floor now, "Hello, is anyone helping you?" Now I begin to tell him what I'm looking for, and within 20 seconds I realized this salesman is a complete schmuck, because of what he said in repsonse to what I added to his comment about some used cars. You just cannot belive the scope of how absurdly over-reactive he was unless you were there, and saw his reaction firsthand, and his body language, facial expression, and general mannerisms, all like that of a little child. I has asked about something (I forget, I think older 308's) and he said 'We just don't care to sell them', so in agreement, in a very friendly way, I nodded with him, and added, "Yeah, I guess your profit margins would be crappy". He face flushed, sweat developed, and he began quickly pacing. He took 10 steps away from me in a huff, then circled around in a confused state, then walked back to me and said in a sickeningly wimpy, yet demanding way: "Please, tone your language down sir". WTF? The word 'crappy' set this flake off? First of all, it was just me and him in the room, secondly, I was just being friendly, just shooting the breeze, being personable, you know, human, and said it in the most mild way imagineable. I was speechless. Anyways, I wanted to continue looking at the Ferraris in the back, because they have one of the only areas where I can see a wide variety of Ferraris at once to compare, and see what I really want, in all color combinations. I need to do this so I can really decide once and for all what I want. I'm picky, but I'm trying to loosen up. So I figured maybe if I see silvers and blacks or whatever, I may fall in love with them. Who knows, as I said, I was shopping in a sense. And I am tired of the hunt. I was ready to buy that red Testarossa in the showroom. At least I was thinking to myself about just paying the $74k they were asking and ending my dreadfully long quest to own a Ferrari. I love the TR, but part of me wants to hold out for my dream - a WHITE testatrossa. While the other part of me is totally impulsive and could be very happy with red. The guy was just a total *****, with absolutely zero charm, no spine, and just a wormy squirrelly little man. I hated him, he made the experience unfun, and I just wanted to leave and make sure he never got ANY commission. The principle of this man getting commission from my purchase of their $74,000 Testarossa made me feel sick. So I just left. I swear if WWoC's had a normal salesman, I could have easily bought a Ferrai today. Dare I suggest they get a salesman with charm, that knows how to make sales. Because I've basically got money burning a hoke in my pocket, and I am VERY tired of the Ferrari hunt. I'm just exhuasted waiting and trying to squeeze every morcel of saving with a private seller, as opposed to a dealer. I'm tired of dragging my Ferrari expert friend with me to screen cars for me. I was, and am, as ready to buy a Ferrari as you can get. And this dip**** worm of a saleman couldn't convert me into a sale? What a loser! And yeah, I told him I didn't like the red Testarossa too much because I prefer white (which is true, but I hated him too much to really consider 'their' red TR, even though I could happily settle for red or white). All in all, as soon as the guy nearly wet his pants from hearing the word 'crappy' I was done shopping through him. I knew I'd never let this wimp get any commission if I could help it. So me and my 'tone' will take our business elsewhere. Nick Saridakis is just an idiot. I'm sorry to vent, I'm just so flabbergasted that I had such an unfun, and unproductive time looking to buy a Ferrari, that I figured you guys would understand. Maybe some of you guys had a similar experience. Oh well, bye guys.
That sucks that you had a bad experience. There are plenty of other dealers that will give you a better time while shopping. If you are looking for a good Testorossa Motor Classic Corp has a nice one. They are located in Westchester, NY. http://motorclassiccorp.com/CarDetail.cfm?ID=37
With all respect, there are two sides (at a minimum) to every story. I'd like to hear the salesperson's. If you are looking for a Testarossa contact Hutch. I think he just posted a thread indicating he was selling his. It is serviced and has concours credentials. His name is Dwight and he's in CT.
I seem to recall having heard negative things about him at some other point -- or maybe it's just everyone praises the various dealerships' service departments while trashing the sales departments... But I'm curious to press a bit more -- other than his reaction to your use of the word 'crappy', what specifically did he do to you that was so awful? It seems that you're hugely upset over a short interaction, which involved his getting hugely upset over a short interaction nlh
Not to turn you away from a dealer, but one of our own Hutch91 has a Gorgeous Red TR for sale. PM him or Hutch, care to chime in?
Ferrarispeed, I think you missed the point! It's not about me being picky about the cars themselves, it the salesman's attitude. The salesman is supposed to adapt to ME, not the other way around. And I could not have been more friendly.
Off subject, but, if you are financially ready to buy any model you want, I suggest buying a newer model. That seems to be the recommendation for 1st timie buyer, to buy the newest car you can afford.
No, the only thing he did was cop a terrible attitude, and he just acted dead. I mean the guy has no skills. And I realize the cars he sells, sell themselves, but he has zero enthusiasm, and made the experience a drag for me. Being a salesman, you'd figure you want to charm the buyer and share (pretend if you have to) some enthusiasm. You do is not piss off the buyer within the first minute.
I am not familiar with this particular salesman but I am however familiar with Wide World of Cars. My dad and I are self admitting BMW nuts and WWoC has a BMW delearship, so one weekend we decided to go up there to look around, knowing we were probably going to buy our next car at a closer delear to us. We asked for some quotes and they were suprsingly cheap, lower then the MSRP. We thought it was to good to be true and quite strange. We then decided for the heck of it lets walk next dooe to the Ferrari showroom to look around. I was in heaven 308's, a testarossa, 355 F1 Spider, and a 456. We walk in and simliar to this story no one was around. We proceed to look around and all the sudden we here "click click click click" and we noticed that remotely every cars doors had locked. A man then came out and said "can I help you?" It felt strange just watching all the doors lock and then being asked if we need help????? We said we were just looking and then the salesman offered to take us in the bodyshop for some reason. There we saw Ferrari's gettin body work done, obvisuosly. Theese set of random and strange events have kept me away from WWoC's, and I don't reccomend them.
THIS IS HOROWITZ A WHILE BACK I BELIEVE NOTHING HE SAYS NOR IM CONVINCED HE EVER WENT TO A DEALER A LURKER THAT WANTS RECOGNITION........... horowitz horowitz is offline Karting Not Subscribed Join Date: May 2005 Location: NYC Metro Full Name: Horowitz Posts: 65 Converting 80s Ferrari into Automatic Hey guys, I realize this is going to offend nearly everyone in here, but I love the 3X8/TR models very much. I don't care about manual transmission though, so how costly (if possible) would it be to convert one into an automatic? 1. Converting a 328 into automatic? 2. Converting a Testarossa to automatic? And while it may be expensive, in the long run, wouldn't such a conversion reduce long-term maintenance? PS: Please don't suggest I look into another car, I'm aware this seems silly, but I'm deadset on getting either a 308, 328, or Testarossa and I'd really, really, prefer an automatic. OR horowitz horowitz is offline Karting Not Subscribed Join Date: May 2005 Location: NYC Metro Full Name: Horowitz Posts: 65 HELP - Is this 308 okay? Hi Guys, I'm about 95% (maybe 99.99) percent ready to make my first Ferrari purchase within the next month, or maybe within the next week. It's funny because when my business started and I had no money, I thought the very first thing I'd do with profits is run and buy a Ferrari. But now that business is doing just fine and dandy, I've become a cheap prick with cold feet. So please help me to just 'do it'. Thanks. http://www.classicautosales.com/htm...127&CAT=FERRARI Their ad is also found within Yahoo Autos. Well what are your thoughts about 'this' 1982 model below? If anyone here actually knows of it specifically, that would just be fantastic. But otherwise, guys, what are your gut feelings here? Your thoughts about this model are very much appreciated. PS: I already understand it's a 1982 (an 'uncool' 308 year to some of you). I realize it's not powerful, and QV's or any 328 will kill it. I am not interested in 'performance'. I just want info on this car and the price they are asking and your opinion in relation to that. And the dealership. I mean do you guys know them? Somebody here must? Does their offer sound realistic? Or is this a ripoff? HELP! PS PS: Please don't mention another Ferrari, the subject is 'this' particular Ferrari. Thanks Guys.
My father had a similar experience once (not at WWOC), that's pretty F-up to do imho. Like you said, how does he have the nerve to THEN come up and ask if you need help!!!
Since we're on this topic, I think a more positive direction (and some help to the guy looking to purchase the Ferrari) would be for people to chime in on where they had GREAT experiences at dealerships purchasing their Ferrari (or Lambo) anyone?
Don't even get me started on Nick Saridakis...myself and two other friends have had very unpleasant experiences with him...put it to you this way, that dude has some serious soul searching to do...I can't imagine how he looks himself in the mirror everyday...b/c of his loack of integrity....oops, I promised myself I was only going to say a couple words on this thread and yet I still can't help myself. Basically, when someone says the words WWOC I cringe b/c of this man. In fact, I considered not attending the last event b/c I didn't trust myself enough not to knock the guy out if I saw him b/c of what he did to me.
How many times have we heard this story over and over again? Boo Hooo the salesman didn't throw rose petals at my feet and worship me for walking into his showroom..... You're walking into a Ferrari dealership... do you think your presence is really going to impress anyone? There have been many more before you to walk through those doors with a lot more money to spend. I'm sure there is another side to this story. Get over it. If you didn't like your experience there, go somewhere else.
OK, TODD IS MY BROTHER LOOK AT MY POST 13....THIS GUY HOROWITZ IS A FRAUD DONT WASTE YOUR "PEBBLE TEC" BREATHE BRUCE
If you think your experience in buying a car at WWOC is poor, wait till you try to get serviced there. Just as Todd has to cringe at the thought of the sales department, I cringe thinking about the even worse service dept. (sorry Bruce!)
All i can say is i had a similar experience with WWOC and refuse to step foot in that dealership as well. But on another note i know alot of people think WWOC is the tops. Sounds like every other dealership in my eyes, they all have their good and bad moments.
Actually after I made my post and saw what Todd had written I thought maybe I was a little too harsh, since Todd's comment would add credibility to the original comments made by Horowitz. Maybe if people went into dealerships with low or no expectations then they wouldn't be dissappointed... LOL!!!!
Regardless of who says what about Nick, he has a reputation and one that seems to be well deserved. He's a character...that's all I can say about that. Should he be a Ferrari saleman, well I'd rather not say.
WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO ALL WHO ARE CRITISIZING THE SALESMAN, (gee Bruce this caps thing feels good) THINK ABOUT THE RECEPTION YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IF ENZO HAD BEEN AT WWOC WHEN YOU WALKED IN. IF YOU CAN'T IMAGINE IT, I'LL TELL YOU THAT HE WOULD HAVE IGNORED YOU.
