Horowitz - sorry to hear you weren't treated as well as you should've been, but that's your welcome intro to the Ferrari world. Get used to it, if you want to acquire a Ferrari, and maintain it.
My '91 Testarossa is for sale. Shoot me a PM or check the thread "the news is true..." for pics and details. I just changed the oil today, and took it for a joyous ride this evening :D . I'm in CT and can show it to you anytime.
As for Nick at WWoC... I met him once and spoke briefly with him. Can't make an accurate judgement based soley on that. But from what I've heard from some persons on this board, I would certainly think twice before doing biz with him.
WWoC service dept is much better with Justin. They did a fine job installing the Tubi exhaust on my TR :) !

For the production # and allocation each dealer receives, do you really think they can make a living by selling a car and never sees it again??? They are not Honda or Lexus. They reply on selling a car several times to be a profitable business.

I never understood the hate towards how Ferrari sales works. Its very clear, that you need to develope a relationship with a dealer, in order to acquire new models first and do not pay premium. If you do not like that practise, well, then pay the $100G extra and get the car before anyone else, and tell the dealers to go **** themselves. If you do not care to do that either, buy a Lamboghini or other exotics. No one is forcing you to buy Ferrari.
I never understood this "I despite it so much but I have to keep on complaining" mentality.

Horowitz, Jeff E39, Chris, Todd; Nick was looking down on you guys. May be it's the way you dressed, the way you talked, the car you drove in somehow he wasnot convinced that you were going to spend a whole heap of money there. He figured you were there to enjoy looking at the cars. The more he talked to you the more he wasted his time. Some how Nick treated Augustine like god. I am sure Augustine apprerence was nice, rich looking. Nick knew Augustine would buy so Nick got down on his knee and lick...

My advice: get out your Rolex golden watch, put on your diamond rings, wear your expensive clothes, don't talk about their Ferrari but talk about your last expensive vacations, talk about how much money you lost the last time the stock went down or your boring with the Rolls and want something else exciting what can he recommend... BS if you have to, they love to hear it.

Sorry if I offense nice good honest salespersons out there. All salesperson are not material like that. I myself wear short and hate jewellery. That was why I had some bad experiences as well. Not any more. Wear them, they love to see them. I bet I can get this Nick guy to crawl and lick me as well.

Remember "the stores are never nice to people, they are nice to credit card."

I have to say I disagree. I can spend my money any where I want. A car dealership needs your business...NOT the other way around. I will buy my cars where I am treated the best. Don't ever feel as if you need them, they need you!

Many of you are missing the point...I don't give a crap about being stroked when I walk into a showroom, I don't care if someone is friendly or not, etc...AND believe me there is not two sides to my story...it is black and white. What he did to me is morally incorrect as a person...salesman or no salesman...PERIOD! It took everything I had inside me to not retaliate and turn the other way and be the better person (matt 5:39)...I am thankful that I did not reciprocate b/c I would either be in jail or have lawsuits coming out of my ears for snapping this guy in two.

To be perfectly honest, I had spoken to Nick several times on the phone before I went in to make the deal. The fact is, Nick had the car I wanted and I am not one who wastes a lot of time with b.s. Incidentally, neither does he. He knew that I was in the car business which may have given him a comfort level not afforded by his usual customers. We understood each other and were able to joke about "industry" things. He made it very easy for me. When I went to pick the car up I was dressed very casually. I don't typically dress like a slob but I also don't dress up for Ferrari dealers. My checkbook and my credit is all the flash that they need...

    My take, in summary:

-This salesman, and everyone else in any business, will do what he or she does the way they do it as long as they keep making money.

-If we apologize for poor behavior and figure that we must be “better customers” otherwise we deserve such treatment, the bad behavior will continue.

-As a general rule, the best customer service will yield the most profits; Ferrari dealers may be, for now, an exception.

-There ARE two sides to a story. If a customer was blatantly rude or abusive, the salesperson need not tolerate that. HOWEVER,
if the customer was merely irritating or picky, IMO, a professional will handle that politely and not retaliate.

This is not the case. There are 3 Ferrari dealerships in the Tri-State area, you have a choice where you can buy a used Ferrari. As for the new it is where you want your deposit to be.

So, everyone has chimed in, and we all agree on a few points:
    1) There are 2 sides to every story.
    2) Any number of random persons can have a good/bad experience at the same dealership.
    3) Most Ferrari sales staff have a less than cheery attitude.

My question regarding item 3 is this: Why? Why act that way? What the hell is the point? Some clown pulls up in a Focus, fine, you can assume he's not looking for a 430, give him the attitude, but treating everyone like poop?

BTW - I can't wait for the day I can get treated poorly by one of these folks. A small price to pay.....

No, a very high price to pay: depending on model :)
and then there's the repairs. Don't get me started on the repairs :)

But come on out for a ride with the Tri-state crew.....it's all worth it :D

Having a bad experience in a Ferrari dealership is no different than having a bad experience in a Macy's. You are most likely not going to go back. You will buy whatever product you are buying somewhere else. It is no different with a Ferrari dealership there are 40 in the US to buy from.

Never let anyone make you feel like a piece of **** after you just spent $100000 in there establishment. The sales person is a reflection of the attitude of the dealership.

I think you have nailed it. And number 3 is the reason many Ferrari enthusiasts only look at dealerships as a place to see cars - not a place to buy them. From the dealership's side (remember number 1) very few people coming through the dealership's doors will ever buy a car from you.

You mean dealers actually take deposits on new models?? LOL. When was the last time you shopped at a Ferrari dealer for a new model?

3 of my friends just got there F430's (2 where coupes and 1 was a spyder). LOL - I guess I don't get your humor. Maybe because it wasn't Funny. Plenty of people stop into a Ferrari dealership to leave deposits. The funny part of your sarcasum is that the only ferrari you own is in 1:18 scale. Enjoy the civic.

Just out of curiousity I called this Nick fellow, told him about this thread and asked him what really happened. I will simply summarize that his version is different than the one presented here, but he did share that just prior to this person entering the showroom they had to have a person who was obviously high on meth removed from the dealership showroom via the police. It would appear that you caught him at a bad time, so I suspect he may have been a bit tense at that moment. I am quite sure we have all had our moments in life we wish we could take back. I would suggest you call Nick and air your issues with him instead of the rest of the world. I found his candor to refreshing and I truly believe he was just wound up at that very moment due to other circumstances. You can argue he should have been more professional, but unless you have lived the life of an angel, you have acted the same way to someone somewhere, at some time. I encourage you to call Nick and speak to him directly instead of attempting to ruin his career here.

His comments were not necessary either. There was nothing to LOL about in my comment. That is the problem with these forums, certain people have no business giving there .02 especially when they are not even Ferrari owners/real customers. Would you go on a BMW forum and give you .02 about the product if you didn't own one.....I didn't think so.

Do you own a Ferrari? I looked it your profile and it appears you don't. That's okay though. I don't discount the opinions of everyone who doesn't own a Ferrari. I know I discount the opinions of some people who do, on the other hand.
