I was driving behind this car today and followed him into a supermarket parking lot to get these photos...sorry about the quality but my cameraphone sucks as a camera. When I first saw the car I was 3 cars behind it and about a quarter of a mile back and thought that maybe it was a fellow fchatter...when I got a little closer I realized that this was a rebodied Fiero...the pictures are bad enough but this is the worst example of an immitation TR that I have seen in my life and I had to share with you all. I know that there is a red 512TR in the area that I saw this car and it had me fooled until I got within a few hundred feet.

It's obvious to me. It had to be a fake because it is a ferrari thats out in the rain. We all know that never happens.

White letter tires on a Ferrari....how absurd! The cheesy mirrors give it up from a mile away.......It looks like the Feirossa that was in "Action Jackson" starring soon to be Governor Carl Weathers.

the photos do not do justice to how bad this car really is. The dimensions are all off...you can see this in the photo from the back...the fins on the door are outlined in black, the car has a sunroof, exhaust is all wrong etc, etc, etc.

I should have told him that he would be better off taking the car back to a Fiero. Nice Fieroarri but NOT a clean reproduction.

Outlined black ok now i see its not shadow :) I don't understand the people who drive replicas wich are not real replicas. I understand that i would drive or make an car wich looks like something i like but can't afford. Thats ok but i don't understand why 99% of the replica kits look ugly .. befor i got the genuien 348, i myself look for an 348/355 replica because i only like the look not the bad quality or the not turbocharged engine but all 348/355 replicas are ugly noone does a good job. i ask some manufacturers if the bumper f.e. are the same size like genuine ones. They answere ofcorse not they are replica. If i develope a replica kit i would copy all 100% .... but i can't understand anything in the world. :)
But at least there are some lamborghini, ford gt40 and Lotus Super Seven replica kits where the sizes are near 100%.

Clearly you missed the F-50 "replica" on Ebay a while back. It was hideous. Some of the highlights were the diamond plate dash and the Porsche Spider windshield frame.....wow, was the bad.

It's the right thing to discourage this kind of behavior. Fieros were cool little cars. Wouldn't you rather see someone enjoying a nice Fiero than this TR kit? :)

I've seen a poor reproduction in Kirkland, Washington. I've seen it parked in the downtown area off and on for a couple of years. It has been on eBay a few times, but either never sells (seen as high as $13,000), or the new buyer just keeps bringing it back to Kirkland. Since I now own a 1993 512 TR, a friend of mine wants me to park it next to the black Fierossa and take some pics.

I don't really understand the point in building a replica of a car that isn't that expensive. When you can get a real TR for $60K, why build a replica?

Now a replica of something truly expensive like an F40 I can sort of understand. Why doesn't anyone build F40 replicas instead of 308, 328, 355 and TRs?

This hurts, maybe I should not go ahead with my replica of a Fiero based on a wrecked Testarossa? The proportions would be all off and a dead give away, darn.

You should have given him this website's address letting him know you had a pic of his car and he was going to be the "POS of the Week" on this site. Would have been entertaining if he would have come on here.

    Not a bad idea.......hmmmmmmm..........

Why do you have to make fun of someone who has a replica?

If someone loves Ferraris or just likes the looks of them but can't afford one, why not make a replica (or buy one already done)?

I once met a guy who had a Mera (308/Fiero). He was a great guy. He came by to take a look at my 308 and was genuinely excited. He loved 308s but couldn't afford one (even if they are only $20-25k). He went through some pictures that he had from a car show years ago and found a picture of my car and gave it to me.

I honestly hope you don't leave a note on the guys car, what's the purpose.

I like the Rolex Presidential too...but I would NEVER violate someones trademark by buying a "reproduction". Lets not sugar coat this this is not honoring Ferrari by driving a reproduction this is tatamount to stealing...Period...If you can't afford it then you don't drive it.

Wow..."violate", "stealing"...this guy should be arrested.

I guess if it'll make you feel better about yourself, go ahead and put the note on his car.
