Well, time to say goodbye to my TR6. Bought it four years ago, fixed it, drove it, now it's on ebay. I loved this car, but like a first girlfriend, it paled in comparison to the Dino. So, here's the listing, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4518802821&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT Oh, and BTW, it's a '74, not a '73. My friend, who owns a Brit Car Shop, is listing it for me. DM
Ain't that the cutest thing ever!! How many miles did you put on it Dave? I know nothing about the car (other than it's the cutest thing ever!), but curious to know what would be a fair price for this vehicle. Good luck selling it.
$15-17K is market, depending on a whole bunch of variables. Mine, not to brag, is probably worth at the top end. I put about 5K miles on it during my ownership. Wax - if it was the Dino, it wouldn't need to be here in other cars, would it? And, they are gonna have to pry that car out of my cold, dead hands, literally. DM
I'm gonna try to get my dad to buy it... luckily we're building a new garage soon. ^^BTW, yes, I do try to convince him to buy a wide variety of cars, but this is a more serious thing because he already has a half-restored TR6 but not enough time to finish the restoration.
Neat car, particulary with the upgrades. Nice ones are hard to find. It's a lot of car for the money and you don't see a lot of them either.
How do you feel about a '61 Porsche 356B Super 90? Barn find, 1 owner, parked in 1970 and never driven again, all original, 50K miles? Oh, and DD, you have mail!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Final Update. The TR6 went to its new home Friday, when we put it on the covered carrier. A guy in Florida bought it for my asking price $17,500, just from photos and conversations on the phone. He had one "just like it" in his youth, and wants to relive his past in a trouble free (well as trouble free as an LBC can be) car. He got it Monday, called me to thank me for selling it to him, and was about to go for an extended drive. All my car deals should go this smoothly. DM
My father had one back in the late '60's, before he moved up to a 911. Not suprisingly, he met my mother while he was in the car. Excellent find! -Chris
Congrats on selling the car! What are your plans for the Porsche? Going to restore it? Post plenty of pics!!
Update. After SEVERAL MONTHS OF WAITING, the 356 will be flat bedded to my mechanic next week. Reluctant seller, (the estate lawyer) finally decided that my offer wasn't so bad after all. At that time, I'll post starting pix, while we decide what to do with the car, vintage race, or restore. I figure I'm on the front end of another restoration adventure, fortunately I'm playing with little bucks, not the big bucks Ferrari restorations cost. Dave M.
Beautiful cars as always dave. That P car is my particular favorite. Question on the TR6..are those factory wheels, or panasports?
ERIK - gonna stick it in the garage I rent in Daylesford when it's done. Ryan. Minilites from Moss Motors. Image Unavailable, Please Login
