that, sir, is THE finest Ferrari ever made... the 250 LM.... I helped with the restoration of this one... absolutely fell in love with it.... it's the car that turned me into an OHOS lover...
photo's schmotos.. the first time we fired up the REAR mounted V12, and then actually drove it around the block was one of my highlights.. the inboard rear brakes, the transaxle, the chassis tubes used as oil/coolant pipes...the total lack of unnecessary crap... there's more wires in a domestic plug!... just pure art... and with the engine in the BACK.. (better than SWB/GTO)
trucks in comparison to 250LM... VERY fast, but trucks non the less... here's me with a few..(4th grease monkey from the right end) Image Unavailable, Please Login
did the fuel lines and carbs today... took the old truck home! Drove perfectly... things I learned today... don't go to the dentist in a Ferrari... worked on a couple of 750 Monzas and an 860, don't remember green SWB, but several others yes, no rep Gp4 Trucks, yes, restored a 225... not sure of history though. No, only one 250LM pictured... they did another one shortly after I left.. yellow one.
yellow 250lm could be O'neill car.on daytona's vs boxer 512 carb what do you see as the good side of either car,on a hard drive good open roads would a daytona stay with us.(both drivern by similar drivers, tyres ,set up ect)
Daytona a bit faster but not much.. Daytona much narrower... can really be hustled through twisty stuff due to narrow width... Daytona easier to drive in terms of handling, but crap steering feel spoils otherwise enjoyable experience. In the wet, a Daytona wouldn't see which way the Boxer went.. SOOO much more traction with Boxer. I had one of those "in the zone" drives in a normal road spec Daytona once... just went out in the dark in narrow lanes (lights on, so easy to see if anyone coming other way at night).... got "lost in the zone"... ... covered major ground in no time at all at massive average speed... actually scary thinking about it... didn't feel scary at all doing it at the time... Great cars, but I'd rather have a Boxer due to looks and engine
in he good old days when you could do it.melbourne to sydney todays road mid week traffic, time warp no cops ,which one get's to liverpool 1st.
driving the BB around a few days now... chapel st last thurs... PISSING rain, tram tracks, **** road surface etc etc.. drives true and straight Rob...... Pushing my luck with old belts/sodium valves.... but hey, plumbers tap always drips...
anyway of xray ? on valves to see how sodium is ,belts in current Classic and Sportscar an owner of a 365 talks about belt change makes it sound easy, how true.have you seen the price of Muira and Countach's in the UK,wow big money boxer prices must start climbing as a follow on.130000 pounds for a good LP400.
ahuh, at least you don't have to pay exorbitent labour charges when something stuffs up! but yeah, funny how that werks, my pooter at home is the oldest crappiest technological marvel. my gf's dad is a lifelong sparky but doesn't have a smoke detector. perhaps i should start a brewery and i'd stop drinking beer.......
does that mean a restored Urraco will go up in price, or because it was a Bertone like the GT4 it will forever be known as wedgy
No point xray... just fit new... win win situation.. re profile, tickle ports etc... 365 is wet sump, making belt change in situ possible.. but still quicker/better/more efficient to remove engine... really not hard at all on any BB.. can do at home of jack stands if you like! ha ha.. money talk will just get Peapea all agitated... I'm loving driving mine around. Not for sale unless maybe straight swap a 550.... must be the chassis flex I like!
lamborghinis are very reliant on specific versions, unlike ferraris where they just made heaps of them. the only Miura that's really cleaning up is the legitimate SV, the rest are still underdeveloped OHOS's. Countach is one of the oddest markets i've seen, such disparity between minor model changes. * disclaimer - all dumbarsed opinions based on never even touching said cars
doubt it. but if anything, i suspect in years to come your car itself will have the heaviest impact on the market, depending on exposure. i should update the website.... in fact it needs it's own.....
story claims a good SV is bringing 400000 pounds all i know is 3 mates have had Miuras and all 3 caught fire. One mate and his brother had one each put the question boxer or miura in a road race he said the boxer more torque and longer wheelbase.l
