I had the 328 out yesterday and was heading back from lunch, stopped to make a right turn at a very busy suburban intersection - the kind where you have to wait and wait and wait to turn right on red.

There was a pack of grade school kids on the sidewalk with their teacher(s), waiting for crosswalk signal. I pulled up to the light, waited for traffic to clear and immediately a couple of the boys (maybe 4th or 5th graders) started calling out 'Ferrari!'. Then one of them said something like 'It has a horse on it' (maybe a Mustang debate...) Then I heard a bunch of 'Ferrari' comments and got a bunch of waves and pointing.

I figure all these kids are on FChat anyway... and one them will probably buy my car someday. ;)

Nice! There is hope after all. How come when it's me in that situation, I either get "Nice Rental!" or "Stall it!" :) :) Maybe it's the smart-a_ss locals around here :).

I live about a mile from a very yuppie high school. When I drive the Ferrari to work in the morning, I always drive by the school when everyone is always getting to school. The FErrari still stops traffic dead in their tracks. I only wish the stigma of owning a Ferrari would be taken away. Many young people see them as unobtainable which is just not true. I am about as ordinary as they come.

Interestingly, I test-drove a Mondial 8 in boulder about 8 years ago, and I was getting all the "locals" flipping me off. I figured it was a boulder thing, and I even went to school at CU.

Now that Dave Helms is there, I bet the sightings are more frequent, but I've always loved the colloquialism "Boulder, 30 square miles surrounded by reality".

The young teenage boys love my car 'round here.

I got a honk and a thumbs up from some guy in a 240sx with a coffee can exhaust. Another group of surfer dudes in a pickup truck beeped the horn and the the guy driving and the three sitting in the bed all waved and pointed.

This is what I get too. My car is a total rock star. It's weird. I never get gas without a guy coming up and asking about the car and I get of of honks and people yelling "cool car!" and the like. I have yet to see any of the bad side (except for the constant attention). I even get respectful nods from police.

I've gotten some of the negative but i'm learning to let it slide. Ditto on the police thing. Usually get a friendly wave.

Was at ACE Hardware and the little 16 ish or so year old old cashier girl said is that your Corvette? I said "what"? She points to my car and say's me and Bill(the other cashier) were just talking 'bout that car. I told her yes it was mine but it's no Corvette...It's the real thing a Ferrari. She gasped and put her hand over her mouth and said OMG! i've never seen a real Ferrari!

Very flattered that a girl even noticed..it was the first time.

LOL! My mother and sister thought it was a Corvette at first too. They are relatively car-sophisticated too. I have definately seen girls look at the car. The female staff at my office all wanted rides, which I was happy enough to oblige. Everyone seems to want to be able to say they rode in a Ferrari.
