O.k., I have been looking for what I thought would have been easy to find: 2000 to 2001-360- Rossa corsa, F1, tubi, red key fob, challenge grille. Daytona seats would be nice, but not a deal breaker. Can even put in a challenge grille myself later. Hell, I'll even settle for a stock exhaust for $105k. But, all those people saying there are cars out there for under 100 or just over, aren't digging into the details of those cars. I have found a few cars (none rossa corsa though), that were close to 100k, and no stories. All the cars under 100k, or at 110k(rossa corsa ones) when you start digging, there's something a miss with them. I found a nice one for 114k, with red key fob, but no tubi, no challenge grille and no daytonas. So, it's missing 2 of 3 things that I really want and would have to install later for extra $.... Hunter P.S. - I am hoping someone can prove me wrong and I'll buy that car. ;-)
Want to have your cake and eat it too. Good luck, hunting is half the fun. Dont terminate the pleasure. There is a car for you waiting some where for sure. Adil.
Its summer so the market usually picks up a little ( driving and tracking season ). Wait for October..
Lots of the self-styled players around here love to wax poetic about all the superfine 360s available for $90K or some such. As a fairly recent actual 360 buyer, I found much the same as you have found. First, it appears 75-80% of the 360s advertised arent really available (the players seldom acknowledge that tidbit) and of the ones which are available, most have some story. I found that the people who own a nice 360 with good colors and options know what theyve got and are not in a hurry to dump it for peanuts. If you find a good car with the colors and options you want, it will likely cost somewhat more than youre hoping but be a lot cheaper and more fun than one costing less and not having the options you really want. P.S. The electric Daytona seats are a major plus.
I agree with everything you said except I don't get this one. How often do you really move the seat? The electric adds a lot of weight and for what? On the rare occation that I do move a seat I can pull up the lever and bend my legs.
all these clowns claiming low prices on both 360 and 430 are just retards. Cheap car means cheap car. Most dont exist as advertised as mentioned by another in this thread. Real world numbers mean real world prices. 06/07 430's for 200-220k and 99/00 360's for 90-100k... DO NOT EXIST to actually buy and if they do, they are crap and not worth a penny. Forget price entirely, and go find the car that you fall in love with and just buy it. Even if while signing the papers, some idiot whispers in your ear that the same car is down the street for 30k less; turn to him, slap him in his mouth and finish signing for your car.
I can't disagree with any of the above posts. However, it would seem as if clean cars are out there. Cats Exotics just sold a yellow '99 that was listed at $88K. The Sports Car Company has a '00 red/tan listed for $109K with a fresh belt service... http://www.sportscarcompany.com/detail-2000-ferrari-360_modena-f1_modena_coupe-2970560.html Both of these dealers are well known and have good reputations on this forum. Has anyone checked out the 360 at Sports Car Company?
Please tell me that $4000 isn't going to keep you from buying a Ferrari. Wait till you have one... $88K might have some miles on it, but I agree with checking out the car at Sports Car Company. What I would do, if you are serious and ready to buy, is to call Jim Lyons, and Marshall Goldman in Cleveland, and the Motorcars guys (Dale?), and tell them to find you a clean red 360 with xx,xxx miles in your price range. You will have a car shortly. Chris Guyer at Premier may also be able to help. If you haven't called the first three, you're missing three huge dealers in modern Ferraris. These guys will find cars that aren't listed right now, and Goldman had ~10 360s sitting on the floor last I checked. A red 360 F1 is probably the most available Ferrari ever made right now, and your price range is spot on. I wouldn't pay a dime over $110K. If you have to add a Tubi later, that's easy -- it's aftermarket. Actually, someone on this board took me for a spin in his 360 Spider with the CS exhaust, and that's not a bad (understatement ) way to go.
Wait a few more months and you'll find your car. If you thought there were a lot of 360s on the market before.......
There are less expensive no stories cars on the market, but they tend to have miles. In the Ferrari world, perhaps "miles" is a story.
What's the problem with miles? I would rather put my money on a car that's been driven 3000miles a year than one that gets 500miles a year. From what I heard garage queens are some of the most problematic F cars out there.
That one is sold. Sold faster than I could get to it. It was in the right price though. I have talked with Jim and that guy moves some cars. Impressive really. Hunter
I bought my car through Jim Lyons and he is a stand up guy....he will find you something if he does not have it....
Yeah I wonder. Really sucks that some are thinking this is ammo to call a car a story car. This is the only "story" my car has; can't imagine the arguments I'm going to get in if I ever decide to sell.
Here is a nice one. I have a feeling it would fit in your price range. http://competizioneracing.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.view_images&product_id=30&image_id=50&Itemid=37
Maybe your shopping list is a little option heavy, but.. Here's one listing at $119K that can certainly be had for less, and within your price range for sure. http://algarferrari.com/carView.php?id=121# BONE STOCK CAR. No F1, no Daytona interior, no Tubi. My 360, bought in January, is a 2000, no stories car, coupe, Titanium/black, 6 speed, but with power seats, red calipers, challenge grill, and at the time 15K miles, bought for $107,500 from Algar with a 60 day warranty, which resulted in new brakes, an O2 sensor and a suspension actuator being installed for free. Here are a couple pictures of the car at Algar. Who mostly has spiders right now. Get a copy of FML, or subscribe to the online edition. yea i have to agree, i did 3 ppi's and all the cheap ones had something wrong, red on black 99 11k miles in texas they were asking 97 ppi showed clutch need to be replaced about a year ago, they offer 90 for the car but i passed. ended up getting the car i really wanted out of newport beach ferrari. 2000 F1 Black on Black 1 owner 8,022 miles all service history and all service done at newport beach ferrari. they were asking 118k and after 2 days of trying to get the price down i just said. i got 106, thats it no more no less. And i got it. Could not be more happy. Just the color i wanted miles are great, And i had to have f1. I think it all comes down to waiting. And get the color combo you really want, i would be soo bummed out if i would have got a red car now. I really wanted black but i could not find any on the east coast so i almost bought red. I am soo glad i didnt. its worth waiting for the 360 to come on the truck from CA. .
