Supposedly the thermocouples providing the signal to the slow down lights are J Type. This is what I found about J Types: Type J (Iron / Constantan) Limited range (-40 to +750°C) makes type J less popular than type K. The main application is with old equipment that cannot accept 'modern' thermocouples. J types should not be used above 760°C as an abrupt magnetic transformation will cause permanent decalibration. How hot do the Cats get? Would any J Type Thermo couple work? I am trying to find replacements for mine. Thanks, Helmut
