Things are crap on long Island.

My daughter and I had to go up to Sullivan County yesterday from western CT. We counted over 100 power company trucks heading east on I-84....so hopefully that means more help on the way.

We stopped at our usual gas/food stop, the parking lot was full of power and tree trucks. Station was out of gas, but spoke with some line crews from Ohio and Wisconsin. Seems upstate got their butts kicked as well. FWIW, 110 miles from NYC there was no gas....power on, but no gas left. Drove my F-350 diesel, 45 gal tank.....diesel seems easier to find.

 

Hi, Does anyone know where I can get 91 (or better), would even be happy with 89 octane, in Nassau? Everyone seems to have only regular right now. TIA.

 

Sorry, I haven't seen anything other than regular. Maybe the easy way out for the short term would be a can of octane booster. I suspect race gas is available at speed shops. They usually sell it in five gallon cans. S-K in Lindenhurst on Rt 109 might have some.

 

I just filled up at the BP-7/11 on Northern, in Bayside, just west of Dunkin Donuts and east of the police precinct.

$100 limit for cars and all the cans they can drive in. Regular only. Cash only. There was a separate line for pedestrians with cans (one pump dedicated to that purpose, eleven pumps for cars.)

Took 90 minutes on line. No incidents. Half a dozen police officers keeping the peace.

Think it would be wrong to wait in line with the ferrari for gas?

 

I was at SK speed this morning. They just received a fuel delivery but only have a few cans of C16 left.
