    Back when I was flying with the RAF, one of my Kiwi mates convinced me to put all my apps in along with him for just about every pacific carrier possible. At the time I was considering separating from the Air Force, so it seemed like a good idea. We both got called for interviews all over the place for over a year. Just the interview trips were a career unto themselves and worthy of a novella. I vividly remember my interview with Cathay Pacific and being asked what I wanted to fly if hired. The answer was, of course, the jet with the most stews in back! (A340 at the time). Cathay and Asiana had me by the b@!!$...my gosh their girls were, and are absolutely incredible. Still, I got distracted by Afghanistan...

    We used to fly Aeroflot domestic from Bombay to Moscow in the '70s - very stern middle aged hosties who would be lucky to fit down the aisle and god, don't get on their bad side - kill you as soon as look at you!!
