Receding hairline in my late 20's didn't help...

Having to start blood pressure meds in my mid 30's did feel so hot either. Alas, partly lifestyle related.

    Cholesterol meds... ditto... late 30's...

But yesterday, I was trying to read some small fine print...in low light. For the first time I had to take off my regular glasses to be able to read it... sigh. It dawned on me that yet another landmark was passing. Years ago I could read fine print intended to be read by an electron microscope... Now, I think back to my parents not wanting to drive at night on the highway because they couldn't "see so well."

Anyone else... What do I have to look forward to here? :)

I rarely like anything on television. I remember my grandfather saying the same thing, but he only had 5-6 channels to be pissed at.

Todays youth, I went to a mall for the first time in years over the weekend. I've ever seen so many preppy vampires kids & the crap they spend their parents money on, kinda funny. Trends, go figure.

Weight training, not as strong & flexible as I used to be, not vary fast on the mountain bike either but also no longer riding off drops & jumping tee boxes at golf courses.

A few years ago when I was teaching a group of college freshmen and realized they weren't even in kindergarten when I was a freshman.

Also when I started seriously thinking about getting a BMW motorcycle....

Played or tried to play 36 holes of golf w/ extras on the 19th (or would it be the 37th?)! Next day barely could move and was a couch potato.

Same thing happening to me. Noticed it a few days ago. Really tough to read the fine print, especially in low light.

    Just turned 40 in October.

I guess it's just downhill from here :(

Not going to live shows or listening to music really loud.

    Joints cracking and snapping.

Being a lot more careful when I go up and down stairs, using the handrail.

just had no line bifocals put in my glasses last year.

taking longer to get up off the floor.

Days passing before I am no longer hung over after I tie a good one on.

the transition from beer to wine.

    a more organized sleep schedule.

I feel a lot less stress about everything.

a better understanding of why my mother did everything the way she did when I was younger and she was the age I am now.

realizing that life is not about what you have but who you share it with.

Talking with the new guy at work and he's never seen 16 Candles. Then he's never seen The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, and a couple of more! Holy crap!! Talking with another newer person and she had never even heard of Miami Vice, the TV show!!! I always thought that, by law, you should be able to quote at least 2 Breakfast Club lines..........sheeeeeesh.

HAHAHAHA, The other day I was at a gathering and I said, Dina Shore. Every single person in the room looked at me like I was nuts.

My left knee hurts when it gets cold. The degree of pain depends on the temperature: the colder it is, the more it hurts.

Same problem with eyes, I was adding a link to a watch band last night, was amazingly difficult to see the little holes.

The golf thread reminded me of this one--I now envy the jumbo grips my dad and all his cronies use on their golf clubs!

I was in a wedding over the weekend. This involved standing up for maybe 40 minutes.

my feet and back hurt for the rest of the evening.

not sure if that's getting old, or being out of shape....maybe both.

Seeing people I know or people who were famous when I was a kid die from a unforseen problem. That guy from Threes company John Ritter he was not much older than I am. That kind of stuff is down right scary. Two people who were a few grades behind me just died from heart attacks. :0

I am 43 and so far the biggie has been close-up eye sight. Like the previous guy, I had 20-15 my whole life, and now I have a hard time reading fine print up close (especially in anything other than bright conditions). My dad always told me your reading vision goes like clockwork at 40 and he was right. Dead cells in your lens make it harder for the muscles to flex...yada yada yada...

So far, everything else is good to go!

Holy Grail is the mandatory quote movie. :D
