Hi DFW neighbors! I want to take my 6-year old to LegoLand next week and was hoping for suggestions for other things to do and see, and interesting places to stay. I've been to Dallas a number of times but almost always on business, never really as a visitor.. I heard the Zoo and Aquarium are great, are the Stockyards worth it?

The Dallas Aquarium in downtown Dallas is a hit with my kids. While in downtown you can walk around the new Warren Park.

The Aquarium is definitely a hit. Haven't cruised the park yet, but looking forward to it. Anyone know when the new science musem will be opening? Looks cool from the outside!

The Perot Museum opens Dec 1. They've been having a lot of special events leading up to the grand opening.

The Klyde Warren Deck Park is open and fantastic.

    +1 on Aquarium

Also, check out all of the Christmas Kids Related events that Gaylord Texan has to offer. That will surely get the little ones in the spirit.

    Have Fun.

LO yes they do, especially with a little iPad encouragement :D

We did all the holiday/Dreamworks overpriced stuff at the Gaylord Friday afternoon and night, spend pretty much he whole day at Legoland with a side trip to Sea Life (by which point I lost the will to live) and had a lovely dinner at Silver Fox and enjoyed dinner company very much.

Just saw your question, there is a Legoland discovery something rather (as opposed to the big outdoor park in Billund etc.) First I thought it must be a brilliant business concept for Houston hot climate to give kids something active to do indoors, but by afternoon I decided I'd rather have my legs amputated without anesthetic then have to deal with these customers for a living
