I'll be there for a business seminar, and wondering if there is any Ferrari "thing to do" in this area. Since I also like boats, I hope to see some nautical museums. I plan on taking a cruise of Narragansett Bay.

    Thanks,

    Hank

    Hank,

When are you coming? Although the FCA/NER Ferrari RI weekend is going to be in Providence this year (9/14-9/16), there are two concours events in Newport. One on Memorial day weekend (www.thenewportelegance.org) and the other 7/27-7/29 (www.newportmansions.org). I am sure several F-cars will turn out. If you are in between, try going for a visit to car storage and restoration company Park Place Holdings (www.parkplaceholdings.com) located in the Portsmouth, RI Industrial Park, they always have a variety of cars in storage. Also check out the FCA/NER website (www.fca-newengland.org) for its scedule of events.

You may want to check out the International Yacht Restoration School. www.iyrs.org
As for auto related activities, not much. The town is too small and congested to enjoy an automobile which is the main reason I work there but do not live there.
Sam had the best idea of visiting Park Place. They have some very cool cars there.

Thanks for the advice. Actually I will be there this weekend. Since I am into boats and cars, I will try the boat and car restoration facilities.

The Foot and Ankle meeting sounds like a blast.........that way I could start off on the right foot!!!!!!!!!!!haha. I'll see you there, G-Car-Man.

I understand that there is a 3.5 mile walk where one sees various mansions of sort. Is this worth it? Maybe one will be for sale, and have an open house!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks again

That would be the Cliff Walk. You can start the walk over by First Beach. (off of Memorial drive) The entrance is right where The Chanler is. www.thechanler.com
Excellent place for dinner or just a drink. Beautiful rooms to stay in as well. Try the Kobe beef burger for lunch. Best burger I've ever had. Listed in GQ magazine as one of the top ten burgers in the world!
