Why would you do that, and don't tell me your dad is thinking of doing it.

Montana now has speed laws. It's not unlimited these days. Sure you can find a rural road and tear down it at 180 mph, but why are you gonna haul your F-car's ass 2500 miles across the country for something that will be fun for what, an hour maybe? And then haul its ass 2500 miles back to NY. Just go to upstate NY and find a rural road, after all, parts of upstate NY are known as "the Northern Mississippi."

I was born and raised in Montana. We did not have a speed limit for a brief period. The Montana Highway Patrol released figures stating the average speed for Montana residents was reduced from 74 to 72 when the speed limit was abolished. It was guys like you, NY550, that forced the reinstatement of the speed limit. There were far too many out of staters killing themselves for what did you say, "something that will be fun for what, an hour maybe?"

    That's what I said ;)

And I have personally driven through Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming on my trip out west through Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Glacier Nat'l Parks. There certainly are empty roads where speeds seem endless, but I just don't see how it can be fun for more than a little while. Soon it will just seem like normal driving, only you are going faster...

Why not just go to Canada if you want to speed on long rural roads with no one around for hundreds of miles?

"Sorry, Officer, I thought that said 120MPH, not KPH" =)
