I woundnt do it. To nice a car. Seems like you could build a purpose built racecar that would serve the same function for alot less $$ and you wouldnt be putting your million dollar baby at risk. .

Saying that (while I may agree!) suggests you don't "understand" Jim's MO IMO.

I think it's awesome he's even considering it!

    Cheers,

get a good driver with Pikes Peak experience. Seems a Porsche 911 almost beat the overall record last year

now that it's paved all the way up, why not. class structure/placement might be an issue.

I agree on a driver with local knowledge...Millen, Zwart, etc.

He wants to do it in P 4/5 C (the RACE car) not in P4/5 (the ROAD) car.

zwart would seem an obvious choice...and he can then get rights to the book and the associated photography!!

he is to many, the gold standard of auto racing photographers!!

Correct. P 4/5 C is pretty tough. We've got a lot of things brewing and we will race again but if we do Pikes Peak it will be in 2014 as we'd want to do it right.

Well, I did it before it was paved to the top in my 1995 GMC Yukon. ;) You should be able to make it a little quicker, and save room for ice cream at the shop at the peak.
