Hmm. Good to see NSX owners comments in here. I currently have a supercharged NSX and am in the process of selling to get a gated manual 360 or F1 F430. I think I’m at that point where I’ve had my fun, checked the box of ownership and ready to try the next thing.

As far as this whole maintenance thing goes, I see a lot about how expensive it is, but to me it looks like owning an exotic is similar in cost of owning an airplane which is what I was looking at before this. So I’m not really too worried about it.

What I wonder is if the prices are close, would you guys get a gated manual 360 or an F1 430?

I bought a manual 360 last November. No interest in an F1 430.

Yes. I also own a 308 GTSi and was disappointed in the performance - but it's a blast to drive anyway - and the manual 360 is exactly like a 308 on steroids, but much more modern and civilized. 200 HP versus 400 HP. Makes all the difference.

2000+ gated 360 all day every day.
    A 430 is basically a souped up 360.
IMO the only reason to go F1 is for a CS or Scud.

Great advice, esp drivign the NSX to the test drives. Your ride home in the nSX will say much.

    In a very good way.

I was shopping cars and drove the one I wanted to replace to the test drives and every drive home made me want to keep my current car and not trade it in. That's when I decided to wait till I could keep my current car as well as pick up another.

So yes driving the car you are thinking about trading in or selling is a very good thing as you have your reference point. I did that in the past and it has always worked wonders for getting my mind straight. Sometimes it makes you realize what you have is pretty darn good and what you thought was so much better really wasn't. Or you decide that what you have needs to go.

Great advice and makes a lot of sense. I’m driving a 430, Gallardo and AM Vantage tmrw so I think I’ll drive the NSX over to make sure I’m justified in my desire to upgrade.

    This is a good answer.
    It's all about reference points.
If I were selling something for something new the newer car would have to blow me away with the experience by comparison.

An incremtal gain or a car better in some ways and worse in others that will
    Make you think twice.

In reality you have a modern classic that can do everything well. What I would go for now is something to compliment it, something that has rawness and power the nsx lacks in other words a 12.

A nsx and a testarossa or a 550 just covers so many bases. Alternatively a lone 458.
But I would keepThe nsx and compliment it with something else. That is assuming the nsx in great shape. Ropey moded cars best to move them on

I’d say a bicycle is a step up from an NSX.

Not sure why the NSX is a very well rounded highly acclaimed sports car. I would love to have one in my stable.

1991 Red w/ the black roof. 5 Spd, about 98,000 miles. Bought it at ~94,000.

This is the list sent to me from the guy I bought it from (2nd owner)

He bought a Gallardo Superleggera and his wife wouldn't let him keep both cars... Bummer, but was good for me. I'm thinking I'm going to get it cleaned up in the next week or so and put it up on Bring a Trailer.

Guys, the OP only replied once in the 74 posts to date so its just us.

IMHO what made Ferrari 'the King' was that wicket N/A V12, the superb body designers such as Pininfarina and Scagliettia, and their dominating racing heritage. Nowadays, its the horse (brand image/passion), still the magnificent NA V12 and the specialness feel while driving. However, 'the King' title might be coming up for grabs lately.

Mr. Manzoni, with all due respect, should try his old job back at Volkswagen and Ferrari should give Paolo Pininfarina a ring especially if the mission is to reproduce Iconic Ferraris.
