I am now thinking of buying a 348, I am looking for any advice I can get, I would love to find a web site for the things to look for when buying a 348, Trouble areas, Maintenance cost etc.
I have a lift in my shop, and I do my own work, but I have my limits :)

    Thanks Joseph

You will love the 348 if you want an old school drivers Ferrari. A car that rewards skill and spits out the punters.

    Trip....... How's my car doin'.....

It's epic, theres less things to go wrong with it than a 355. It is the last I repeat the last raw ferrari, where there is no shortcut, and any spectacularly epic driving is just that, epic driving, no electronics to help you. As stated before a ss is supremely super epic. Yes I quite like this car, I got in a stationary example and it was AWESOME.

    P.S. I don't have one... yet.

series speciale very rare, the Spider the same as the SS with a soft top and easier to find. The essential issue is a regularly used car with a comprehensive history and has been serviced by people who know what they are doing, leave the garage never driven in the rain queens alone.

Just purchased Serie Speciale #71. Had the car thoroughly PPI'd. I paid for it, and promptly drove it from Maryland to Chicago 850 miles. I think I had a perma-smile for 2 weeks. I now refer to my right gas pedal foot as "personal viagra".
Best purchase I have made in an automobile. Straight test pipes with a Tubi just brings a smile with every tunnel, bridge and overpass when hitting the gas. If you love manual feeling cars, steering, shifting, youll love the 348. Find one thats well cared for and driven, sounds like copterjohns is a great car.
I took it to a show of about 100 cars, all ferrari, lambo, aston martins and I had quite a few people who came up and said how much they liked the car and how timeless the design is compared to many of the newer models.
    My 2cents.
    Enjoy!

As a first Fcar, I have chosen the 348 for the following reasons ...
    Affordable to purchase
    Stunning looking
    Sound and rogue feel

But choose wisely or she could take you down to the cleaner ...

My advice, don't think any longer JUST DO IT! This is a buyer's market and 348's are superb. Unfortunately I recently totaled a beautiful 348 I bought from a very nice fellow Fchatter. Throughout owning the car, he was very helpful with tips and advice, he gave me a fair price for an exceptional car, and I owe my real introduction to Ferrari to his generosity.

After totaling mine, I was left with enough money from the insurance to get into a F355 which in it's own right is an exceptional car. Newer and more technology on top of more HP, but even with that to consider, I backed off the 355 and found another 348 to replace mine with because of love for my first love, the 348. They are timeless classics with distinctive lines and far fewer of them are seen driving down the road than any other recent models. The simplicity of their mechanical elements and lack of electronic luxuries make the car next to bulletproof and a fascinating daily driver, which mine is.

Aside from the insurance spike I'll take for totaling one, it is by far the cheapest car I've owned. I've owned Fords, Cadillacs, Mercedes, BMWs, Lotus, Rolls Royces, and many others, I'm here to say the depreciation and maintenance of the others far outweigh an occasional stop for a minor repair.

Best car I've ever owned. If all goes as it should my friend, by early next year I will have a multimillion dollar lawsuit settled and everyone asks me which Ferrari I'll end up trading for. I've asked that myself to myself in private at least a dozen times, and the answer is, I will keep the one I have. Even if I get a whim to buy another Fcar, it will be an addition to and not a replacement. I've owned a lot of fine things in my life sir, but never before have I been so smitten by a car 16yrs old, slower and less expensive than a new Corvette! It's absolutely baffling what kind of life change you can get from such a small investment.

    DO IT ALREADY!!!!

If you are really ready to own a 348, Copterjon just lowered the price on his. Not a better deal out there. If I had the money right now it would be mine. Not kidding!
