Hi to all. I am ready to take the plunge and get myself an F430 spider. I live in Toronto, Canada and the car is in Vancouver. The mileage is high 20000 km = 12000 miles. Just had a new clutch in Jan. Price seems high but I am trying to negotiate a good trade value for my 09 Granturismo S. Does anyone have any experience with this dealer? Good or bad deal? Being in Canada makes purchasing a Ferrari a lot harder, as there are limited cars and dealers.

    Car link is here: http://www.ferrarimaseratiofvancouver.com/inventory?task=detail&id=60

    Thanks,

    Ken

Have you considered importing a car? With the current value of the CDN $ it is worth considering. You will also have a much bigger selection available to you south of the border.

Most cars I have seen have 8-12000 km.

Think of it as an advantage.

If you put 100 miles on a car with 100 miles already on it, you've doubled the mileage.

If you put 100 miles on a car with 10,000 miles, you added 1%.

Seriously... if the car check out I wouldn't worry. It's still new. And, you have the knowledge that the previous owner actually drove the car and enjoyed it instead of letting it waste away in some garage.

Ken- Cannot help with the dealer, but that is not a high mileage car, like bdelp said. I think the Grigio Silverstone (assumed) exterior and bordeaux interior are a really good looking combination, especially with all the carbon fiber. The owner had the taste to have the dash and wheel done in black, which makes the bordeaux work really well. The red tach looks good with that interior as do the red calipers with that exterior.

All in all, a very pretty F430 and one that has done just enough miles to find any bugs.

I forgot to mention my boss has an F430 coupe in that exact same color combo and it looks fantastic. You have to see it in person. The photos are a bit off.

I dont think that interior color is Bordeux; it looks like rosso/red. Bordeux usually does not come out that bright in pics..

I agree. This is red but I can tell you it's beautiful in person.

Thanks for the reply all. I have the same combination on my Granturismo S, Grigio Granito ext with Rosso interior, and I wanted to keep the same colour. Dealer and I are a little off, he wanted $ 90,000 for the GTS, but they have one for sale for $139,995. I am trying to push for a $ 70,000 difference, I think that's fair.

The other issue I have to figure out is the HST (tax) rules so I don't get dinged on sales tax twice.

I'm crossing my fingers it's a go, but if the dealer won't budge I still have my GTS, it's a great car. I'm patient and I can keep looking around.

Ken- In the States, most states only charge taxes on the difference in prices (except California, of course). Hope Canada is the same.

You are probably correct on the color. Rosso was not offered on Maranellos, but looks like it was by 2007 on the later cars.

I feel that it's better that the car has been driven enough to work out most of its problems, if any.
