I have an excellent '88 328 Spyder, red on tan that I purchased from a reliable dealer two years ago. It's been in the garage and has less than 25k miles. I put in an awesome stereo (Memphis speakers) and K-40 radar but never use the car.

I'm considering selling but don't know if there is a better time of year to do so? Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I don't know if a car such as a Ferrari has a "season." I think it's more about finding the right buyer and increasing your exposure. If the price is right and it's the right car for the right buyer, the car will sell IMO.

    Not near Bakersville, by chance?

I may be going there to see a 308 soon.

I looked for 6 mos before finding this car, so I know it's special. Assuming so, I wonder how I'd find out what the current market value would be?

I listed my black 328 with 29,000 miles here, in Hemmings, and Ferrari Market letter... only got one call, from the Ferrari Market letter ad, and that was about 2 months after I posted it. Nothing from hemmings

Ebay sent me 25 callers, none of them serious.

As for value, I would look at the Market letter and Cavalino, I think they give you a real range to shoot for.

    Best of luck.

Spring is the season, just like a motorcycle. Much easier to sell at the beginning of the driving season, and harder to sell at the end or in the winter. If I am looking for a deal on a car or motorcycle, the dead of winter is the best time to make a lowball offer!

Give it to a dealer via consignment. I believe that Sport Auto does this and can help.

Just one question though, why sell it after only a couple of years? Was your heart really into it or was it something you felt you had to have because of outside influences? Just curious.

I'll probably keep it. The heart is definitely in it. It's just that I don't drive the car very much. I think it will be worth a heck of a lot of more money in the not-so-distant future... there aren't many nice ones out there for sale (from what I found)

"Don't drive it much" is a relative phrase. Is not much once a week, once a month...? How often would you like to drive it?

I know a guy that owns a 308 that's only driven it once this year. He loves the car but just doesn't have the time right now to enjoy it (busy with his business and family). He has no plans to sell it in the future.

Just hold tight and enjoy it as much as you can because I guarantee after you sell it you'll be kicking yourself that you didn't keep it.
