I have a 2011 Nero Daytona/Cuoio with 6200 miles on it. The warranty expires in Jan 2014. My dealer has a new 2012 in stock, loaded Bridgestone/Beige Cali. I have LOVED my car so far. It's had some niggling issues with the roof but nothing else. I was just a bit worried about carrying the threat of the 'big' bill past the expiration. The only Ferrari I want is a Cali bec I want the back seat for my kids and its a great summer commuter car for me. Should I just keep it and take the depreciation that's coming? Wait for the Cali replacement? I figured that swapping into the 12 I might be able to get a deal as the used Cali market is hot and new buyers are going to really want 13's so there may be a deal to be had. A new 12 might sell like a used car at this point. As an an aside what F cars are getting the new 7 yr bumper to bumper warranty? I look forward to your thoughts and a HAPPY, HEALTHY, AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR to everyone here!

I'm sure you'll be happy whatever you decide, but my vote would be to go for a '13. Dealer should be able to get you one before summer (maybe a new one or a demo) and whatever small premium it costs versus buying a '12 you'll get back at resale time. And, in the meantime you'll enjoy the updates. If cost is an important factor you could consider giving the dealer your car now before it depreciates further.

Wait for the re-design in 2014. Enjoy your baby for 1 or 2 more years. You can always extend the warranty. You'll likely save money overall and won't have the hassle.

+1. Get the Power Cube and Fidelity package for $10500, 2 year extended warranty and 2 year included annual servicing. You won't have to worry about the motorized hardtop or tranny. Put another 4-6K miles, trade in for redesigned Cali. That's what I did on my 2010 Cali with 5xxx miles while I patiently wait for gently used 458. No rush, as coupe owners move to Spiders, there will be more used 458s coming to market.

^ Getting extended warranty is a lot less than a car swap, especially if you like your current car. Mine now has a custom stereo, a 9500ci, a CF trunk plate and a few other things that I'd lose if swapping. Note that 7 year plan is maintenance only; it's not a "warranty" that covers things that break. Keep your car and wait for the '14.
