I want to trade up my 82 308 to a TR. I have seen a few on ebay that look pretty good. I dont have time to sell to private buyer so my best bet is to go thru dealer. Looks like i can get a 88 thru 90 TR. Is there a major diffrence in mechanical, realbility, etc in those years? Any sites for TR info?

Your on the right track, 88.5 and newer, (5 lug, few extras upgrades) I bought mine a few years ago, the the prices should be in the 60 to 70 range still. If you want to spend the extra cash, 93 and newer get's you a updated version, but I still like the look of the late 80's style!

    Oh and BLACK is cool...:)

    Good luck..Robert

IMO, look at years 88.5-91. The 88.5 has the 5 spoke wheels and in 92 they started the 512 TR, so way more $$. I have an 89 and love it (black on black), and I too upgraded from the 308. I loved the 308, but have never looked back since getting the TR, way more torque and while the 308 makes some people look at the car, the TR makes them hang their heads out the window! Not that I'm an attention whore, but just saying the TR has a much more defined presence. PM me if you wish for any more info. Jerry.

I've loved the lines of the TR. The 308 is also a beautiful machine, but it doesn't hold a candle to the TR.

Good luck with your search. And you know we here are all about the pics.

I upgraded the same way from a Carb 79 308 to an 89 Testarossa.

This car is better to drive in my view, more powerful and heaps quicker on the race track. Just as bad with the electrics though.

    Worth the move.

No just a pain in the ass to remove! 320 lb on the spindle!

Plus better re-sale I think with 5 lug..

Number of reports here of single-lug TRs losing a wheel = several

Number of reports here of a 5-lug TRs losing a wheel = none

I would skip past the TR and go straight for a 348.
