I'm wondering if this 288 GTO was in the Ferrari supercar test (288, F40, F50, Enzo) in the car magazine EVO. (the February 2004 issue) Remember they're were saying the car was for sale at DK engineering uk. Just looking at their website , I see its not there anymore. http://www.dkeng.co.uk/frames.php Now if you compare these pictures to the one of in the magazine you will notice they both have the same exhaust. Any of you know the serial number? And what kind of exhaust this 288 has? Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It looks like the 288 GTO is at Road America. That special lic. plate would seem to indicate longer ownership? NO add on side marker lights... ch
The exhaust is the optional "megaphone" exhaust that could be ordered on the new car. I made a copy on my copy : http://home.tiscali.nl/308gto/203.jpg.htm
Ferrari Fart Cannons. Beautiful car. 288 GTO is one of my favorites. It seems imposible to find a model of one anywhere.
road and track had some nice models you could buy and finish, this was several years ago , but i have the 250 gto, the 288 gto the 365 BB and a few others, all from the road and track series. the 288 is to me " THE " super ferrari, along with the F40!!!
This GTO was at road america this past weekned. I saw it there last year too. There was a decription of the car and some of it's history in the window (slightly visible in the pic) I don't recall a lot of the details but it said it was a pretty low mile car and was purchased from some collection a while back (started with an "M" Mueller, Munen, Maynen...?). Had the same description last year too. Overall the car seemed in much better condition this year than when I saw it the year before. Interesting thing is that I saw a sales guy from Lake Forest putting on a "Lake Forest Sports Cars" sticker on the back of the car late saturday afternoon... you'll notice in the pic it doesn't have the sticker. You might call them to get more info. www.lfsc.com (I think)
Misunderstanding sorry I thought you were saying that the Wisconsin plate was special. You are right though
