is it me,or has this particular boxer been showing up in quite a few places lately? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2483425651&sspagename=rvi%3A1%3A2 i think another seller had it on ebay mabe a month or so ago, and it's the same one listed here in bev hills at heritage; http://www.heritageclassics.com/ferrari/83red512/Page.html the car looks great, as does the price,.. anyone know if there are stories attaced to this one? thanks
This is the same car. As we discussed in another thread, the white turn signlas have meaning. Although we couldn't agree when orange was used on 365/512BB, we all know it was always used on the BBi's. This car has been most likely wrecked and repaired in Europe with white signals.
Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this beautiful 1983 Ferrari 512i Boxer in Red and Black with Black Leather interior. This example was imported new by famous builder William Lyons and is complete with CA registration and DOT/EPA releases. This is an incredibly strong-running vehicle with beautiful paint and nice original interior. Features a powerful 5.0 liter flat 12 cylinder fuel-injected engine that pushes over 460 brake horsepower with a vehicle weight of under 2500 pounds. The odometer reads 50,700 kilometers which translates to 31,500 original miles. Please call for more information. 2500 lbs. and 460bhp...hmmmm?
There is another William Lyons in the States? Unless they mean car builder? in which case thats Sir William Lyons!
i thought i had that bookmarked before,.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2479215063&rd=1 and more recently,... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2483425651&sspagename=rvi%3A1%3A2
and finally, to wrap this one up, two cents from sheehan: ***** Hi Bill. Boxers are a hard sell. F.W.I.W. it should read 360 HP, not 460 HP! It sure as hell weights more than 2,500 pounds. Try 3,500 pounds! 31,500 is a lot of miles. Makes it hard to sell. Has it had the 30,000 mile service done? If not it has $8,000 in deferred maintenance now due! I have one at http://www.ferraris-online.com/cars/FE-512BB-30713/main.shtml that isn't rushing out the door, and it has 19, 206 miles and the 30,000 service has been done, and it has a known history. To summarize 512 BB s/n 45339 , too many miles, misleading ad, no record of the service done, so... a hard sell! Feel free to share this with the gang on Ferrari Chat. My regards. M. Sheehan.
