I hope you and some of the others can make it to the Drivers Run top speed challenge at Bruntingthorp on Saturday the 30th of July.
she didnt do the challenge in the end, i was also in line to do it, various reasons why we pulled out.
I think this pic of the two orange Murcielagos side by side illustrates the difference between OEM (left) and Tubi (right) end tips.
When my F40 comes back from Michelotto I will be taking it to the next Vmax. The engine is having a complete rebuild and more power.
You should come to the Drivers run event in July, as Albert V8 is bringing his F40, it would be interesting to compare the two.
No good though, boyfriended up. What a shame!! YEVIL is a wicked car, thats the one in the recent Autocar test. Love the egear, had a good day. It was funny when the Lambo guys tried d to stop me & Rick driving away in SG54 cos they thought it was YEVIL and we were nicking it!!
Nope, I was fine at 90 .... it was accelerating from 100 out of the bend that I kinda ran out of, er, talent! Apparently the weight difference between Adam's Yellow Bird and Rob's 996TT is equivalent to about three people sat on the roof!!!
Great thread...sounds like an amazing day out! *must raid Oxfam for suitable attire and wander down to an F-Car dealership, tottering on heels and requesting a drive* With the RUF Fascination video, it is commerically available or any recommendations on where to get it? I had heard of it back home but was unable to find anywhere in Sydney that had it. Thanks James PS: are spectators allowed at these events?
I bought the video from RUF UK when they were around in the UK - think about 1994 - they weren't in business for long though.. You can probably buy it from RUF in Germany.
Hi guys Had a fantastic day at VMAX. Thanks again Craig. Simon, good to speak to you again (briefly) I still didnt get round to having a passenger lap in the Murcie but for some reason you seemed to spend most of the day talking to the lovely Leeane!! The Yellowbird RUF looked absolutely awesome. Even guys who were driving 993 Turbos were getting out after passenger laps looking totally shell shocked. From the outside it looks like about £12K's worth of 1980's Porsche. 0-100 in about 6 seconds IIRC. Amazing car. Badapple and I did have a spin (one each) in his VX 220 Turbo which seriously embarassed a lot of the other cars on the bends. Top day and cant wait for the next one (with a new Exige hopefully!)
Absolutely not I'm afraid. Paying drivers and their passengers only. Big insurance headache otherwise... not to mention blagging passenger rides unfairly to the detriment of those who have a) paid and b) got up at 5am to be there!
Not a problem - it would have only been to drool and take some photos rather than 'blag' rides but can understand from the insurance perspective. Will have to loiter around Sloane Square methinks! EK3R, thanks for the tip Cheers James
I went with a mate in his Maserati, but spent most of the day taking photos. Check them out: www.ricophoto.co.uk/vmax7/vmax7.html
Rico, the last but one photo, diablo and 360,you didnt take any others that show the 2 cars a bit closer to the start do you? cheers nickster
No idea mate. Normally takes a couple of days to get the results into a conclusive order. Craig will post them on PH
