His singing is incredible. I could listen to him sing over and over. He is going to be a great opera singer.

wow.... he truly is an amazing singer. and hes actually a singer unlike many of todays other "singers" where their voices are tweaked into perfection this guy can actually sing with his own voice.

I thought he was pretty good, but every serious opera fanatic i've shown this to says he is a good "amateur" singer, but isn't even close to being on par with people who sing at, for example, The Met.

Perfect thread title! I watched it several times before and again now. Her reaction says it all. Hearing that aria is always a powerful thing and I can only imagine what it would be like to be the one standing on a stage, nailing that note at the end while the audience holds its' collective breath. WOW!

It's no wonder Pavarotti as such an arrogant ass! :):)

He blew the crowd away....i hate how the simon and the judges were expecting to fail at the begining.

    Goosepimples....Goosebumps, haha

It was a very good game. The actor doesn't fit the movie, he doesn't resemble a hit man, and his face is not agressive, imho.

Unfortunately, when someone linked this to me last week, I had actually just listened (as in 5 minutes beforehand) to Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma. I just wish it had come at a better time :p. He does have a great voice, but is just absolutely no comparison to a trained tenor. With training, he should be good.

A big +1 to both of these statements. He's got some raw talent, but has a long way to go. My cousin is a professional opera singer(sadly I didn't inherit the musical gene) and there is just no comparison when stacked against a trained and proven voice.

You also have to figure that this is a guy with no training that sells cell phones, and you are trying to compare him to Pavarotti. My mom (who I emailed this clip to) used to sing opera professionally in Poland, Austria, and other places and she feels that he has a LOT of raw talent that with training will translate into a very successfull career as an opera singer. Don't get my words twisted I like the Pavarotti version more but lets be real now he has a great voice.

Edit: On the Hitman thing they should have got another actor. I just don't see the guy from The Girl Next Door as a hitman. I think that they shoulda called Vinny Jones up, or maybe Collin Ferrell.

the greatest thing about this guy is his personality, hes got an amazing voice for an "everyday" guy, i mean he sells phones, it doesnt look like he's married, lacks self confidence in anything other than singing. he doesnt have the "im a huge star attitude" about his talent, he knows he can sing but he keeps humble about it- i say lets hope the industry doesnt ruin another person.

I don't even have to click the link and I know who you're talking about. The first time I saw it my jaw dropped. Absolutely amazing. There's also another guy on the British version who does a song called "i'm good" which is also very very very good. From the youtube videos I like the British version much better than the American.
