Well, is it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150033527957&fromMakeTrack=true Upon further examination, I don't think this is a '72. Serial # is for a 1970? At least according to www.dinoregister.com. and other stuff. Looks awfully early for a 72. Waidaminute, it's got knock offs. Locking trunk, and a host of other early GT items. hmmm.... Methinks the seller may be a bit confused. Serial # is correct, then history and date on the car is not.
Seems to be rotting in the usual places just like the one I am doing! Front wings, around the rear window, bottom of doors, etc! Would certainly need a good bit of bodywork I would say! He says it is a 1970 car but the title states 1972. Al Cowan
Art. If mine is a 1.5, this is about a 4.5. I've seen worse get fixed, actually one of the guys here is puttnig one back together that needs more than this, but, body work and paint alone is gonna be $25-30K on this car, just based on the pictures on ebay. Then there are the obvious mechanical issues. IF "it runs great" you can spend $5k on the motor. No telling what books/tools it has, and suspension and brakes can run another $10K. So, start at his $90K Add $30K for body, windshield and paint another $10K for books and tools and another $10K for the suspension and brakes plus maybe $10K in miscellaneous stuff. Exhaust, check the motor, tweak the electrics, etc. It's a $150K car to get it to mine, not even get you to Pebble Beach standard. (That's probably another $30-40K) But it is an early 246. With a funny title, no apparent service history, and a shaky ownership trail. But, it is an early 246. DM
