Wonderful video, thank you. Lost arts, it seems. It really drives home the heart and soul that went into them, and why these cars are so special....and deserving of years of TLC.

At 8:15 an entire chasis is being pulled out of a tank. Is that the rust proofing process that the QV's recieved?

I bought this video when I was about 15/16 years old. Copyright is 1984 by Ferrari SpA. I've sold my complete VHS videotape collection but ofcourse copied all of them to DVDs first.

The video was distributed by Video Sports Reports (VSR) International.
Original title is Rosso Ferrari (my copy is a Dutch version with Dutch narration and called Ferrari, een mythe).
It's originally an Italian production by Politecne Cinematografica srl with:
    Fernando Ciangola (fotografia)
    Osvaldo Bargero (montaggio e edizione)
    Roberto Cacciapaglia (musica originale)
    Gianpaolo Tescari (regia)
    (and many more...)

    Hope this helps.

    Best, Peter

Did anyone else almost tear up when the robot in the paintship so gently closed the door. Even italian robots know how to treat a woman...

Great to see how they removed the paint on crackle blacked raised castings, just a quick scrape with a chisel like tool. A task that would probably fill me with angst is obviously done so nonchalontly.

Trying to get those TR diffs to crack in the specified place, most likely.

Looks it. This film must be from 1985, and they started using "Zincrox" in January 1984.

Nice find - I hadn't seen this one before.

I registered specifically to let you know that I found the documentary that was discussed in this (old) thread is available on Youtube. I have the original film on VHS and came across the Youtube film and this thread while looking for a digital copy. The film is on Youtube at the following link:

It seems the video is uploaded by the director Gianpaolo Tescari. IMDB link here: Rosso Ferrari (1984) - IMDb
