Okay, here's the 2 posts. PeterS posts the following: It's been a while since I have ranted about anything, so I feel the following is justified! I listed two iPhone's on ebay yesterday that sold in three hours for $500. Upon getting an email to my BBerry that the phones sold, I went to my Paypal and there was no payment. When I got home, I logged on to ebay and noticed that the buyer requested 'Send an Invoice, which I did. In parallel, I popped him an email thanking him for the order and asked that he make the payment ASAP, which was a request on my listing. With the payment not being received as of a few minutes ago, I went to ebay's Live Help who told me that I need to wait and that the buyer has SEVEN days to make the payment! The above scenario really sucks, as I have two other people that are willing to pay me ASAP for the phones! Why does eBay let buyers get away with this? I could use the $500 right now but have to wait all because eBay (IMO) wants to continue to kiss the butt's of their buyers! ---------------------- 355Dreamer starts a thread with the following: So I won this Iphone on Ebay yesterday for $500. Seems like a pretty good deal. The only problem is, the crazy seller wants me to pay immediately. He sent me some emails asking for payment or something, but I would rather wait. After all, I have 7 days to pay. I need the money to for some other things for the next few days and then I will pay him. What do you guys think I should do in the mean time?
LMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if this is true, what are the odds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In petes defense, whenever something is sold on ebay, i always thought you got paid right away. why would someone sell something then get paid after the buyer receives item ?? Whenever i sold something on ebay or bought something, the money always got transferred first. still a funny ass thread though !!
I don't think you're reading Pete's complaint correctly. He's upset because the buyer is taking the whole 7 days to pay. Pete hasn't shipped the item yet. He just wants his money. Now.
Yeah, of you have to wait for payday to buy your used $500 phone, you probably shouldn't buy it. A few year ago on eBay I let my account run low and it took 7 business days to have the money transfered, so I can see a delay from time to time but the 7 day rule should be cut to 48 hours unless you contact the seller.
