I've wondered the same thing. Must be that most of the real guys in the region drive muscle or euro cars and therefore on other forums

I spend more time at the kart track than on Fchat these days, not a good recipe for thread creation as I'm definitely not racing Ferrari's!

Well there's certainly a large following of 'Vettes and other muscle cars at the C&C meetups in Raleigh.

I've been neglectful in sending out weekend drive invites; considering there is a good amount of Ferrari's in the triangle area, and the weather is improving, I need to get on that more often.

Looking forward to heading down to Motori Italiani on Saturday. Will the regular C&C at Panera (Northlake Mall) resume on the following Saturday?

you think this region is dead?

SoCal has a quarter of the Ferraris on the planet and that subforum sees maybe half a dozen posts a day.

Well, I believe that my 328 is due for its major belt service, so I could post how many miles it's been since the last one, and the date of the service, and solicit opinions about the proper timing of my upcoming service (if needed).

Keith...I've searched this forum for weeks now trying to find out anything regarding timing belts and came up empty. Maybe you should start a thread...

there are actually many threads on this topic. And you will not get a concise answer . Factory says 3 year 15k miles . If you are not a hard driver you car 4 or 5 year. And many guys have. I'm going to change mine at the 4 year 20 k mark.

don juan...i think you may have missed Greg's subtle sense of humor...
I didn't though....made me laugh. I'm thinking of posting a poll on this with my car's details and F-Chatters can vote:
    1. replace immediately...you are way overdue
    2. you have at least 5 years/50,000 more miles
    3. don't replace until you hear loud metal banging noise behind your ears, followed by total silence accompanied by acrid smoke.

@ Don Juan...there are threads ad nauseam on this topic and a sure-fire way to get flamed on this site is ask that question.

    @ Keith...I vote #2!

I think the belts on your Ferrari are made by Gates. This is the same company that supplies Honda and Toyota (although my Honda uses a timing chain), so they should last just as long...

    Hopefully in 246s.

It would be interesting to get a unique Carolinas perspective on this issue. Most threads seem to be more focused on the individual models.

Talk about lurking....that is me. I don't own a Ferrari or an exotic so don't feel like it is my place to post much. I am out at C&C in Raleigh every month with the S2K club, I am actually the one that herds the group. Just got back from Charity laps at VIR today and had a good time.

Onto the reason I copied the above post. Are you really looking to sell the NSX if so please PM me or post some more details.

    Thanks.

    Kevin

5 years on timing belts is just fine. The 3 year thing is just a Ferrari idea to sell more work. These cars aren't driven enough to rack up the miles. Therefore the time limit is what most go by. 5 t-belt jobs in 15 yrs. opposed to 3 sure adds up. Timing belt life is affected by mileage and age. Age is the bigger enemy. You have more chance of it surviving excessive miles than excessive age.
